I like it! I'm still hoping for a diecast one with lots of gimmick though.

Wow, very cool. Can any bros who collects Mayfex how they are interms of material and overall quality? Thanks in advance. I've only seen reviews for their Star Wars figures so far. The general verdict seems to be they are better than the Hasbro Black Series but not as good as the SHF figures.

I wonder how the eyes work. It doesn't seem like they would be in the same piece as the facial expressions. Three expressions were shown but the promo pics show different eye angles with the same facial expressions. Perhaps it's a separate piece, but I'm hoping it's part of the head with mechanisms to move the eyes to wherever you want. None of the eyes shown looks straight ahead.
Edit. Looking closer it's likely just separate eye pieces. The pupil wouldn't work right otherwise.

That said there are going to be a tonne of eye pieces for this figure. Just in the pictures they have upward and downward gazes for each side.

Wow, very cool. Can any bros who collects Mayfex how they are interms of material and overall quality? Thanks in advance. They've had qc issues in the past. I owned their first batman figure and the arms and legs would pop off the sockets without much force. Also own their iron man figures and while the limbs don't pop off easily, they are pretty floppy. They do look great and the likeness to the movie armors are the best I've seen in 6-inch imo but it can be frustrating actually playing with and trying to pose them. I haven't owned any of their newer figures but from what I've seen from reviews, they have improved on all the issues I've touched on. I am looking forward to this, qc-issues be damned. An articulated astro boy has always been on my wishlist. My only gripe is that he's not to scale with 1/12 figures (which is what the mafex line has been all about) and the price is kinda high for such a simple looking figure.

Awwww he looks adorable. Favorite child robo hero. 6" will be a good scale to display with the Figuarts, Figmas & Revoltech figures.

Found this photo of the astro boy figure on display with some scale figures. Robocop and the 2001 Space Odyssey figures are in 1/12 and the Alex figure I think is 1/6. Astro boy is definitely going to be bigger than 1/12 and looks more closer to 1/6. www.flickr.com/photos/149640204@N03/25085472868/

How’s the quality? I’m waiting for more stuff before I can ship mine.
Thanks for the pics! Gets me excited!
I think it was marketed as an all plastic release so no diecast was expected.

So far I would say the quality reminds me of the old Medicom Miracle Action Figure line, but with more accessories and better articulation. I'll post up some more thoughts later.
