Like I said in the other thread this is inspired by Jumbo's. If you weren't around at that time or been exposed to the Jumbo craze when it was new you will never be able to understand just how popular this line was. Hell I remember being in India in the early 80's and seeing a kid with a Jumbo Gaiking and being so jealous lol.
They might look good on jumbos but on the current DC line they look off... its like the great mazinger XX weapon? What is it... fire extinguisher? The decent one is mazinger Z... won’t spend my money on this rather use it on new figures ... To each their own I am sure people will buy this based on nostalgia...
They are a throw back to the Jumbo Machinder / Shogun Warrior weapons. Super nostaglic pieces but also as I can see not at all connected to younger collectors. They're missing their roller skates for the full effect.

This is a much appreciated shout out to older collectors that grew up with this stuff. It harkens back to the Popy days when they used to have crazy gimmicks that didn't necessarily make sense, but were lots of fun. Unfortunately, it's doubtful that any of these weapons will actually fire anything or function like the vintage stuff. Probably just another accessory people can use to pose, take pictures and share on instabook and facegram. Kinda sad actually if thats the case.
KumaStyle.com (TJ): It's a fair statement. The MP official line has been a q.c. dice roll for years and I feel like MP-44 was such a big release that no one could avoid that elephant in the room anymore after it turned out to be a mess but I'm glad the community is

getterjehuty: Isn't the Perfec Effect Leonidas have loose joint legs?

KumaStyle.com (TJ): at a point where they are vocal about it... and the PerfectEffect Leonidases literally have a loose everything. Even if they're half decent out of the box they seem to just go to heck sitting on a shelf after a bit and unfortunately it's pretty universal.

getterjehuty: THis is my opinion but the issues of mp-44 are the knees and the paint. You have to be really careful or the paint will scratch. It is near the abdomen area side.

getterjehuty: I need to ask, KumaStyle. What is your favorite EX Gokin Fewture Robot?
May 4, 2020 16:45:29 GMT -5
KumaStyle.com (TJ): I agree on the issues and those compounded with how incohesive the aesthetic is compared to the third party offerings that came out around the whole time was just.... ugh. Ref EX Gokin: That's a tough call and I honestly don't really think I have a

KumaStyle.com (TJ): favorite in terms of look and quality because it was a very consistent line for me in that regard but if someone put a gun to my head and said choose now I'd probably go with the original release Getter Dragon. I think it has

KumaStyle.com (TJ): the perfect mix of homaging the original design but having Sato's signature stylization while the build and articulation were pretty tops. I feel like it has the most crossover appeal to those wanting something more faithful while not having any

KumaStyle.com (TJ): little finicky parts that will fall off during handling like some of the others do.

getterjehuty: Mine is Reideen or Shin Getter. I love their designs

KumaStyle.com (TJ): Yea. Shin Getter is up there for me as well. Probably my favorite visually but it's definitely not one I like handling at all anymore.
