Bandai will be releasing this variation of Godmars based on his vintage Popy toy colors, it will come with weapons for the individual bots that the vintage toy had (But never appeared in the show). Looks to be a June/July 2019 release for 28,000 Yen.
It looks like it will also come with a new version of the flight stand for Gaia.
Great news. The original one is where I stopped buying SOCs (and then sold them all) but I'm rebuilding my collection and just want each character. The minor details aren't too important to me so I'd much rather buy a new one than go to the aftermarket and pay more.
Oh dang, just realized it has all the Popy weapons too! The only godaikin I used to own as a kid...well, its more of my brother's. And always wondered back then why the big sword looked so different from the cartoon. I do like the new colors, quite faithful to the original toy, and surely pressed my nostalgic buttons. Just not sure if its enough for me to double dip...yet.
I don't have any background on this one. The colors seems the same but only metallic to me, is it the only variation with the original or is anything else I'm missing? Also I don't know if the ship/plane and the statue will be included in this release...
I would probably buy this if Bandai did not just a recolor.. but a remold... into Mighty Orbots!
IF they made a Mighty Orbots I would go nuts! Loved that show!
For the unfamiliar, the new R set will come with weapons for the individual bots, which was not present in the original Gx-40 release. This version will follow the vintage Popy colors of the toy. While the original Gx-40 follows the cartoon colors.
Bocasas raises a good point, no press pics of the ship and the Gaia Statue? Hope they're still included.
KumaStyle.com (TJ): It's a fair statement. The MP official line has been a q.c. dice roll for years and I feel like MP-44 was such a big release that no one could avoid that elephant in the room anymore after it turned out to be a mess but I'm glad the community is

getterjehuty: Isn't the Perfec Effect Leonidas have loose joint legs?

KumaStyle.com (TJ): at a point where they are vocal about it... and the PerfectEffect Leonidases literally have a loose everything. Even if they're half decent out of the box they seem to just go to heck sitting on a shelf after a bit and unfortunately it's pretty universal.

getterjehuty: THis is my opinion but the issues of mp-44 are the knees and the paint. You have to be really careful or the paint will scratch. It is near the abdomen area side.

getterjehuty: I need to ask, KumaStyle. What is your favorite EX Gokin Fewture Robot?

KumaStyle.com (TJ): I agree on the issues and those compounded with how incohesive the aesthetic is compared to the third party offerings that came out around the whole time was just.... ugh. Ref EX Gokin: That's a tough call and I honestly don't really think I have a

KumaStyle.com (TJ): favorite in terms of look and quality because it was a very consistent line for me in that regard but if someone put a gun to my head and said choose now I'd probably go with the original release Getter Dragon. I think it has

KumaStyle.com (TJ): the perfect mix of homaging the original design but having Sato's signature stylization while the build and articulation were pretty tops. I feel like it has the most crossover appeal to those wanting something more faithful while not having any

KumaStyle.com (TJ): little finicky parts that will fall off during handling like some of the others do.

KumaStyle.com (TJ): Yea. Shin Getter is up there for me as well. Probably my favorite visually but it's definitely not one I like handling at all anymore.
