I think opening the preorder for Dairugger and the Valkyrie on the same day was a bad choice and made the process even more of a problem.

I don’t think there were enough VF-1S toys even for JP demand - I was relying on amazon JP to get mine - it wasn’t listed for North American shipping and still sold out within minutes

More like my BBTS will have it but have to be quick to order and secure a copy before it’s gone.... it’s following the steps of his little brother man... a complete sold out in matter of minutes. Good for the bros who got this bad boy.... I wonder if BBTS will place a purchase limit on this. I hoping I can buy two of them (one for full combined mode, and one for the three vehicle teams).

It is common, but haven't seen it done in this timing, which tricked me too. Would have stuck around late last night on their 3rd or even 4th batch if I knew it pop up so soon. They tend to bring back POs with higher price, but often in days after, not mins after. Might be because this PO is so crazy, they just resort to bleeding out their reserve much quicker than usual, and I wouldn't have went to bed just yet and let this all happened before I get one while it is still under 40000yen.

Nippon-Yasan is really taking full advantage of the demand for this figure. Not only do we have to pay upfront, but with each time it's announced to be out of stock then back in stock, the prices increase. It's ridiculous to think that earlier this morning it was just under 30,000 yen and now it's up to 42,500 yen.
I was waiting for the preorder to start over at HLJ, but sadly I got distracted and didn't remember until two and a half hours later. It's ridiculous.

On average, how well does Nippon-Yasson package their items for overseas shipping (to the US)? I've only ordered from them once before--2 of the same exact items (SDF-1). The box arrived dented, and there was barely any protective cushioning. One item arrived in MIMB condition, and the other was pretty trashed. Fortunately, I wanted to open one item, and keep the other in mint condition.

It was $30 more than retail, but better than eBay.

TIPS WITH HLJ: I was with a notebook and my cellphone and the site seems to work better on my cellphone. Also searching the product and clicking add to cart works better to me than trying to go into the product page. Once in the cart I tried to check out with my notebook and cellphone and was also faster in my cellphone (by little, I manage to get to the payment page first in the cellphone). A few times I had to do a refresh but finally I manage to get it. Also If you want to change something about your address or payment method you can do it later (after you secure the PO) don't try to do it while ordering because you'll lose precious time. Did you try to refresh during the spinning wheel of doom? I got hit with the wheel at every step of the process. Got timed out once, and after that I started refreshing if I had to wait too long. I got through, but I don't know if that was the right technique or I just got lucky.

Dude it was sooo bad for me I could not even found the damn page for this thing..... was so mad and disappointed that HLJ one of the best made this crap.... @sgokin bro! I think your theory about dairugger not being popular has been phased out.... this guy was big in southamerica because of voltean brand. Look at the sales and hog prices for this robot DX prices .... crazy for a “non popular” figure ... Ask fat tetsuyin 28 still on sale and nobody buy the damn thing....

I avoid them no matter what. Hopefully you have a better experience. Because their customer service sucks. Even when the problem is on their end. I ordered red the GX-48K big O exclusive. They said they shipped and provided tracking. After couple months I hadn’t received the package. I contacted them numerous times but never got a reply. I filed a dispute with PayPal (because PayPal guarantees delivery or will refund you) PayPal contacted Nippon and then abruptly closed case. PayPal told me Nippon sent o photo of the package they shipped. I showed PayPal the tracking that clearly showed it was never delivered to me. PayPal refused to reopen case even though I showed them their policy on their site that clearly states delivery is guaranteed not just that the item was shipped. I thought I was out of luck. I received an email from Nippon that the package was returned to them postage due and I owed them the additional shipping for the package being returned to them and additional shipping to send the package back to me. An additional charge of over $120. My my address is verified on PayPal. I had ordered from Nippon before and received those packages. My address was correct in my profile on Nippon site. I checked the tracking and it was noted on the tracking that the address on package was wrong and matched no known US address. Nippon put the wrong address and wanted me to pay for it. I informed them of their mistake and they were very rude and started making threats to me that they were going to charge my PayPal account for the additional shipping charges. I contacted PayPal with the proof from the tracking and that Nippon had the package. PayPal apologized to me and refunded my money. Nippon deleted my account. I would not recommend Nippon-Yasson.

Have bought a lot of web exclusives from them, and don't remember ever have major box damage issues. I would rate it 'Good'. While not the best, it is at least standard among Japanese retailers.

Every time Tamashii sells a new Metal Build Gundam or DX Chogokin Valkyrie it sells out in minutes, even going back to the original Destiny release. Kamen Rider Figuarts have the same issue a lot of the time. A lot of demand for small pre-order batches. It does depend on the product though.

Unfortunately this will be my first time ordering from NY so I do not have any experience with them and their shipping process. Quite frankly, I’m just hoping if they are not great with packaging that the toy itself will remain mint since I open and display all my toys at home anyway.

I did the refresh during the checkout process but I didn't go back, just waited for it to load (it took almost 5 minutes to load the address page). It's a matter of patience and luck but as with the old site I'm learning their tricks.

I got to the place order button page at HLJ last night (each page was so slow it was an agony), clicked on the place order button, then timed out. I thought I would have to start stalking various sites to get one or pay after market, but then this morning got a confirmation email from HLJ. Guess it did go through afterall.

I think once you're able to hit the "place order," there's a good chance you've made it.
But I could see why HLJ's not gonna change things. The site gets hit hard maybe once every few months. Otherwise, it works. From their point of view, it's probably like, "Tough it out, people."
