f**k, I just snapped the head off one of my NHC's. I was trying to take the vinyl head off and the neck snapped. Does anyone have any extra parts?

You think that's bad, i was checking out my boxed c10 nhc last night and noticed one of them had a cracked chestplate, so i checked another - the same. seems i have 4 nhc that are all in sh**** condition. I bought them from mugen toys late last year. When they arrived i put them safe in the loft, i should have checked them out thoroughly.
Sorry to hear about your nhc Johnny

Cracked chests are pretty commonplace with nhc's. That's gross when they tell you it's C10 though! If you ever buy one again, ask first.

Okay, another FYI. Keep handy a) a hair dryer b) a glass of water ffresh from the microwave c) one of those steam guns for cleaning the bathroom tiles - they always seemed like a nutty idea when they advertise them on TV late at night, but work great for warming up cyborg heads fast.
All these methods work great for fast AND SAFE head removal.
Now the japanese have already anticipated your needs and have a remedy for this broken neck joint problem
In 1998, Takara made a rather large number of cyborg heads with neck joints. I see them a lot and it is now about 7 years later, that is why I am assuming that there are a large number of them in circulation. My best guess is that Takara was having as much trouble unloading the Guy Gao Gar figure as everyone else has had. It is one of the most common cyborgs around. What takara did was make a series of special heads. All unpainted. Flesh, Smoke, yellow and a grey blue (not the same as the blue 2 pack). Takara has done quite a few special heads, but I am only talking about the heads with the neck joints that wll help you solve your problem. Each of the aforementioned Takara heads comes with a transparent brain (on the tree) as well as a nice and tight new next joint, a screw to put it all together and a big instruction sheet with diagrams detailing how to assemble it (as if you didn't already know)
Now you are ready to fix your cyborg, or customize a Guy Gao Gar figure. These are REALLY common kits and sell for about 980 yen for two heads & necks. I thought it was worth it for the clear brain alone.

Thanks guy! Is the photo below the same thing you're talking about? It's hard to tell. I've seen the set you're talking about and i was clear beacuse they had that diagram and a picture of a brain, but this one just had this photo.

Yup, That's the one. It's a NHC head in a little bag + the plastic bits in a bag, plus the instruction sheet (all together in yet a THIRD bag)
One thing to note about asking sellers about imperfections. MIB is definately a grey area. However if the toy is really rare and you are gonna take it out of the box, you have to take everything int consideration. I have had imperfections even on items directly from JAPAN so there is only so much you can really do. You gotta get along with everyone after awhile. If you ever take these figures out of the box, you will eventually notice imperfections so you may want to start your own cyborg BODY BANK for when you do find a problem crack, as well as have the crazy glue ready for the silver knee joints. (I have a pile of pre tightened knee joints ready for insertion before I even get the cyborgs in the mail). Cyborg is a HIGH MAINTAINENCE TOY LINE, which is why they make kits like this (and why there seems to be an endless supply of new heads, etc) It's like taking care of a nice car. Another thing which leads me to believe that there were decent numbers of the repair kits produced is that these things seem to pop up for sale in MULTIPLES. That seller you used the photo from has them in supply and lists the heads as two sets combined together. For 980 yen you get two great heads, unusual brains AND you get will your decapitated cyborg repaired. Not a bad deal, eh? Best take your Cyborg French Revolution reenactment pix now, because - in the words of the great cyborg tv show from the 1970's "WE CAN REBUILD HIM!"

Repairs & tighting on the Cyborg:
NHC: Probably best to do this all at once, but unscrew the knee caps and pop out the silver NHC knee joints.
Apply a bit of super glue to the hole and let it set. PATIENCE is required. If you do not wait long enough, your borg will be frozen in one position for good... Don't go crazy with this technique, as you can get the joints TOO tight. Apply only a little at a time so you don't have to sand it down later. The NON CLEAR leged cyborgs don't seem to have such a problem with the floppy joints, so the clear plastic may be partially to blame.
VINTAGE Style:
A trick to tighten up and keep hands & feet of the vintage style figures in place is use a few drops of elmers school glue. Water Soluable and it holds pretty well. Especially on the 8" cyborg & muton hands & feet + on the Jaguar limbs. It has saved me from losing muton feet on many occasions.
Best to keep the limbs firmly attached as often the costumes will begin to get more costly than the dolls themselves...
Later, Guy

Remember - Don't go crazy with the glue. If you only put a conservative amount of glue on the hole of the silver plastic knee piece, you should be fine. It usually takes a few applications before it has enough resin built up to make a difference.
Application of superglue directly to the clear plastic will produce almost immediate results and not always favorable...
Cheers, Guy
