Seems like it's the first entry in AMAKUNI's gokin line called KIJIN. So it's actually produced by Amakuni with help from Sentinel. Also $500... I remember speculating the Pose+ GGG would be this much, but that was as a combiner... Part of me wants to do it, but with how uncertain the economy is, I'm worried about how the exchange rate will look by January... It's $397 on D4 as an early bird special. Still, that's no small amount and like you said the current economic situation is uncertain. I think I might have been more willing to bite if they at least included some of it's weapons. I bet it will be a separate $120 release down the line.

I'm wondering if this is worth it given it's not a combiner and lacks other accessories. It's tempting but on the fence leaning to no as others from other forum think it isn't.

That's a good point about the exchange rate, but since this will have Bluefin distribution you can just order it in USD when preorders go up stateside? And I thought that this was all plastic? It's diecast? If so I get the price a lot more now. It's $397 on D4 as an early bird special. Still, that's no small amount and like you said the current economic situation is uncertain. Put it in your cart... for me a lot of times shipping on their items nears or exceeds $100 and that's why I avoid that site like the plague at this point. ------------------------ Wanting to preorder at least 3 so I think I'm waiting for the U.S. releases to go up.

I Pm’d Brandon Wong at SupremeCollectors FB page to see if he will sell it as well.

Pass.
No way I'm paying $470+ for a non-combiner GGGG and it's smaller than the SOC by 2cm (almost 1").

For me I'm paying international regardless so that's why it might be the best choice since at other places like Amiami it's already $100 more expensive.

I hope that whatever you choose doesn't hit you too insanely hard.

Since this is Amakuni's first gokin (and action figure) I did a little bit of quick research on their scale figures which is their primary product. I don't have any Amakuni figures in my collection (though I do have one on pre-order) but the consensus on them is that they are a really high quality product. Since all their products are "exclusives" through Hobby Japan though, they are often called "over priced." One of the really nice things about Amakuni is they do have a really varied catalog of character figures, including a nice one of Megaman X and Zero, so there's a chance that this could carry over to the Kijin series and give us some unexpected mecha figures.

They're mostly statues though and the pervy kind at that. Lol! I can never put a statue above a good action figure. There's so much more work put in a good action figure than a "high quality" statue.

Yeah, but the statues are all we have right now to compare this GGGG to in terms of the quality of Amakuni's work, it's not ideal for sure and hopefully this will skew closer to the regular Sentinel release.

According to what Amiami's site says, Sentinel was the "prototype producer" and Amakuni is the "sculpt producer" so it's kind of vague if Sentinel's going to be manufacturing the final product.

It's straightforward; It means that Amakuni designed it and Sentinel is handling the actual production/manufacturing of the product. Basically it's like me asking you to take this drawing/render/sculpture of mine and make it into an actual, functional toy.

Some more info. [more info]】 Amakuni girl's genesic gaogaigar
Eyes, G-stone on the forehead, hair and lion’s eyes on product version can be lit-up!
Examples of high action performance and linkage articulation:
■ Despite its enormous size (head to toe approx. 24cm excluding wings), it is not clumsy at all. You can raise his thighs or bend the knees for over 90 degrees. ■ The hand has linkage mechanism which allows the vanes of “Protect Shed” to spread all at once! ■ Bottom of the knee drills is movable for dynamic “Spiral Drill” and “Straight Drill” attacks! ■ “Gadget Feather” has linkage articulation too. When you extend the furthest feather all the feathers will move together! Besides, the feather on the eye-patterned part is independently movable so that you can display him in various styles. ■ The manes of Galeon are articulated. It is not necessary to exchange or remove any parts to put both hands in front of the body when using “Hell and Heaven” attack.
