Not excited at all. In fact, I am not sure I want to buy them, even though I have ordered the GGGG. A lot of the accessories I don't really care for with the exception of the Will Knife and the Protect Wall effects. Some of the others are nice, but I can do without. Without them, GGGG for sure feels incomplete, but at the same time, these are no Fin Funnels. They don't really add that much to the figure for that amount of money. Almost feel like cutting the lost on the accessories to make the price more acceptable, rather than sinking deeper into the hole. Would I rather have these accessories than the Riobot R-1? Easy choice there. I still don't get why regular will knife isn't included in the base figure.

What do think, Kuma? Is it worth it? I have a deposit down for one but the order hasn’t yet been filled. I was hoping this would be bigger. I’ve had the Maxfactory GGGG version1 for years and I’m worried this Sentinel version is approximately the same size but with better detailing. Very interested to hear your thoughts.

Woohoo~! Mine just got shipped from D4Toys. Heard some folks in HK not getting theirs ready to pick up just yet, possibly coming short on stock first batch of delivery. Though looks like that didn't affect my order over at D4Toys. Probably depends on how early the order is placed.

Finally opened this guy tonight, though only have time to fiddle with the main body a bit, saving the wings and stand for later.
My initial impression is quite good. Very good looking in terms of finish. The mix of different shades of gold, the intechanging gloss and matte blacks, the high detailed sculpt with a lot of sharp points. This is very Riobot. And after holding it in hand and play with the joints a bit, this GGGG is indeed more Riobot than FlameToys. It doesn't have the very hefty diecast skeleton feel of a FlameToys or Metal Build. Metal is being used, but mostly on the whole inner hip, and some parts of the main joints, but not so much a full diecast elbow, ankle, or skeleton like FlameToys or MB. This result in a figure while decent in size, with just decent heft. Not that heavy, and not very light either. Most of the weight came from the plastic.
Figure has very tight joints all over. It gives a very sturdy feel, no floppiness. But as I mentioned above this feels very Riobot. As big as the figure being 24cm tall, there are plenty small pointy parts you have to be very careful when posing, as they do interfere one another often, especially the Galion's mane and GGGG's shoulders. The articulated fingers have very tight joints, pair with the plastic hinges not being that thick, you'll have to be very careful when slowly bending the finger hinges. There were couple reports of people snapping off the fingers, which I can see why. Just posing a hand with the fingers bending the way I want took me 5 mins, instead of 5 secs. But as long as you are careful and patient, working one hinge at a time, you won't break the fingers.
Another thing to look out for are the toe claws. They are very pointy and the 6 toe points are the main support of the whole figure when standing, when not using the display stand. If you just leave it on a table and drag the figure around (like many youtube reviewers did), you can say goodbye to the sharp pointy gold claws. Either use the display stand and lift the figure with some feet clearance, or have GGGG stand on a piece of felt or something that's soft enough to protect the pointy tip and won't rub off any gold paint. I'll probably end up using bother together for long term display in a standing pose, just so the claw tips don't sustain all the weight with ground contact.
The figure sure is overpriced. A bit smaller than expected, a bit lighter than expected, and a bit on the fragile side. But now that I have it in hand, it does give you a kind of satisfaction of a better and more robust Riobot with very tight joints and premium paint finish. The articulation and engineering is really good, especially on the legs with the insane knee bend and the Protect Shade arm. I was agonizing on the high price even after I ordered this guy. But now I don't feel much of that anymore, after aligning my expectation on what this figure really is. Very glad I bought it now, and going to spend more time with the wings and accessories next. This thing just looks so darn cool, and can pose so well after learning how to work those joints.

Spent more time with GGGG and got the wings and orange hair on, as well as tried out the display stand. Here are some quick notes: - The wings are not only cool looking, but actually adds quite a bit of weight to the figure, as the whole inner backpack attachment piece is diecast, with 3 connection points to GGGG's back. One square peg in the lower middle, and a pair of sliding hook locks one on each upper corner. The square peg alone doesn't hold the wings in place well, wobbles a bit. It really need those 2 hooks to secure the wings completely. With the wings attached, the weight of GGGG is much closer to Flame Toys TFs. Caught me by surprise. - Orange mane/hair behind the head looks cool, but unfortunately doesn't have enough clearance for the head to turn. Thought something wrong with my neck ball joint and made a few turns feeling something blocking the head rotation. When I found out what causes it (orange hair touching the back of the head), I already scraped off a little orange paint from the hair. Not very good design. Could have just sculpted the hair shape just a tad different and it won't be rubbing the back of the head. Also, with the hair attached, you can't really access the LED on/off switch. - Display stand turn out not as good as I want. It is sturdy, and allows you to screw tight it at very specific angles. Base plate also has plenty of holes for different configuration set up. But the weak spot is the connection to GGGG's body, the back of its butt to be exact. The connection is two short round peg that slot into the '2 butt holes' horizontally. While the fitment is pretty good, the short peg doesn't take a lot of wiggle to come loose, unlike other stands that peg in from the bottom of the crotch and let gravity help keeping it in place. Just adjusting the angles already got the connection came off a couple times. In the end, I just put it back in the box, unless I want to display it doing some aerial poses, but need to make sure it is at an angle where the weight won't cause GGGG to slide off those 2 short pegs. Bummer. Thanks to those toe claws, GGGG is super stable standing by itself. As long as those toes don't break, it can support the big wings really well without any help of the stand. - GGGG is super stable on its own, thanks to the tight joints and weight distribution. Kind of odd that most of the diecast went to the backpack connection, as well as the 'speedo' inner hip. But it works somehow. If you like me, that tend to lift the figure from its back crotch with a finger or two due to hip skirts getting in the way, that diecast speedo is the perfect spot to give you that cold diecast touch LOL. Had a few GGG/GGGGs in my collection, and many tends to lean backwards a bit due to the big wings, and have to pose the legs and ankle to compensate. Not this guy. Solid as a rock, really well balanced. - You do have to be very careful posing it. Always need to move out panels and pointy parts out of the way, before you can rotate the joints to avoid any clipping. Shoulder diecast joints also fairly complicated, with multi swivels and big double hinges that are very tight for extending the arms to do Hell & Heaven. Takes a while just to achieve certain action pose. The figure also has very few spots you can get a good grip to insert backpack, stand, or accessories where a little force is needed. Grabbing the wrong spot or pressing your fingers on any fragile bits unintentionally can easily break the pointy stuff. Horns, lion mane, lion teeth... you name it. Definitely not for kids. Make sure you read the instruction manual and can't always rely on video reviews on this one (seen some not handling this correctly or missing essential steps). Still like this figure very much. Sentinel did a lot of 'right' on the big stuff, but they have some 'wrong' on the smaller things too. Can't be perfect I guess.

A quick image for folks interested in where the diecast goes, highlighted in blue. The speedo and the backpack plate got the biggest chunk. While there might be a bit more, especially inside the lower leg, but mostly structural or for the synchronized articulation. Just that you can't really see what is inside, and as big as the lower leg is, it doesn't feel particular heavy, unlike the SOC GGG where the lower legs got most of the diecast. Attachments:

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, mpchi! Looking forward to getting this and the options set eventually from Bluefin, as the GGGG is one of my favorite designs. The old Max Gokin was my very first gokin many years ago, and unfortunately that did not stand the test of time.

Appreciate all the detailed impressions, mpchi. I'm surprised that the upper body has more die-cast than the lower body. You'd think the legs will need the extra support, but it might have made doing poses with the legs raised impossible.

You'd think the legs will need the extra support, but it might have made doing poses with the legs raised impossible. Now that I think of it, it is actually pretty smart for them to do so. GGGG has big claws for feet to help balance while standing. And because of the poseable claws, the figure is more suited for aerial action poses with the display stand. Having the legs lighter definitely reduces the leg weight from wearing down the hips and knees from getting loose (since there is no ratchets), drooping the legs prematurely. Most gokin on the other hand neglected that aspect, put metal on the legs for stability just for standing (which GGGG doesn't need). Good engineering I would say, even though it seem odd at first.

Here's my Unboxing for Sentinel Amakuni Kizin Genesic Gaogaigar - this is definitely the figure of the year for me so far. I generally prefer robots with gokin exterior - but the high detail achieved here is unparallelled. The metal structure is solid and satisfying; articulation is astounding. I love the gimmicks and lights - I can't wait for the FX parts! My eyes are open to what Sentinel is capable of - I'm a fan.

Opened mine today - honestly I’m disappointed with it, especially considering the price. It’s a bit small, it isn’t as heavy as I thought it’d be, and it was very fiddle to put together. The connection to the stand is not secure, putting the backpack and mane on wasn’t fun as everything is a tight fit, and a lot of the joints are maybe too tight.
Yes, it’ll look nice on the shelf, but I can’t help but compare it to the CCS Toys Mazinger Zero that I opened the other day, which I was really, really impressed by. My only real (small) complaint on that toy so far is that I’m not a fan of how the side-skirt pieces attach to the main figure.

Hi everyone, a bit late to the party on this one, but here is my review for the Sentinel Riobot Kizin Genesic Gaogaigar. Please click on the image to jump to the full review: Beautifully detailed, amazingly gorgeous, but alas, very, very pricey and very incomplete in terms of accessories. The weak LEDs were also a huge let down for me. Gold
