Yeah, those are the scan/pics I was referring to. It say the back engine has a switch responsible for turning on the light and sound gimmicks. Then it mention it has an internal infrared sensor that can sense and interacts with GX-86 Yamato's actions. So either we get a very basic set of 'demo' light and sound on its own, or it is entirely depending on owning GX-86 Yamato to even do anything with the gimmicks, if all of them are reactions of Yamato's control, since Gamillas has no remote of its own. Hope there is more clarity or a video demo from Bandai to clear the confusion, as I believe not many of us are getting GX-86 Yamato, owning one or more of the previous versions already.

Umm, that's alot of diecast...
I MIGHT pick one up if and when it goes on a sale and if it can hitch a ride on a readied shipping box.

Yeah really, I was never interested in buying another, slightly different Yamato since I already own the GX-64. Also 12000 yen without taxes isn't bad for what it is, but we'll see.

I am interested as well. Price is reasonable, but need to know what I am paying for, without GX-86 Yamato.

Just ordered from BBTS!!! Thanks for the heads up, bocasas! This is like the most affordable SOC release as of late, right? Man, do I miss this price range. It's like 20 years ago again

Not bad, I do like the fact that you can still trigger the sounds and lights without the Yamato, but it features the same annoying trait I hated about the Arcadia; the power switch being hidden inside the battery hatch, that you can't access without removing it from the stand. However, this being much smaller, lighter and having less spindly parts makes that at least a little bit less cumbersome activity.

Hey guys Here is my cute review.. Pros 1.A real gokin. Please watch this video from "toho(?)" for the metal count. 2.paint AND sculpt is laser sharp with no QC issues. 3.the sound and led gimmick works loud and bright. 4.the base is sturdy and fits the ship like a glove. None of this BS Metal build wobbly BS. 5.ALL those round little turrets rotate smoothly with no squeaks. Constructive Crticism (and/or wishes) 1.Bandai, are you kidding me? It doesnt have auto off!?!? And, especially since it doesn't have auto shut off function, the gimmick button should have been OUTSIDE the ship!! ...wow just plain stupid for not thinking this through... 2.and that black bottom part of the base, it really should been clear....yeah i get it , its the bad guys logo. 3.and it'd been nice if the thruster and/or the deck was also endowed with led.... 4.and it'd also been nice, if The giant access cover on the bottom had magnet clasp gimmick..easier and classier to access the batteries and the feature button. (the first time opening the super long and very thin plastic bottom was nerve wrecking as i had to use considerable force. But after that it opened fine.) 5.lastly, nothing like Styro coffin to say FU to the environment.... All in all, for around $65 shipped, its a real nice piece. Very “swishable “around a room. And Due to the ideal size, You can also easily do the Alien and Star Wars "camera pan" with it too haha. Feels great. ....alright I will recommed it despite the blatant "misfire.". Two green thumbs up. All in all, I give it a 8 due to the sales price.

(the first time opening the super long and very thin plastic bottom was nerve wrecking as i had to use considerable force. But after that it opened fine.) 1. It does, it just seems to take a while. 4. I just opened mine with a fingernail and had no trouble with that so idk what was the deal with yours with yours. Conversely, I had some difficulty snapping it into the stand but after that it seems to pop in and out fine? Honestly I'm not even sure why they bother adding a separate battery cover under the cosmetic one, especially when you can just leave the former out anyway and it won't make any difference. I do like the fact that without any spindly antennas on the bottom, I can put this thing down on something besides the stand as well. I also like the fact that the button to actually trigger the electronics is built into the ship itself, removing the need for a separate remote that also needs batteries. That said, I do think the only downside with this thing is the price; consider that almost at the same price point is the Tetsujin 28, which also comes with electronics but also has a whole bunch of accessories and moving parts, this one feels like it should've been 60-70 dollars at most.

Lol.. super duper late with the review for this (Covid disrupted local shipping for a long while, and problems at work pretty much sucked away all free time for the past 6 months), but I figure I'd still post this just in case folks wanted to backtrack this item down the road. Review for the Gx-89 Garmillas Warship from Space Battleship Yamato 2199. Please click on the image to go to the link. Gold

Thanks Greengetterguy! Sorry it took so long. Bandai rolling out SOCs every month is also making things more hectic. Gold

Gold, Aside from the small size compared to the Yamato, did you feel the scaling was off? Based on the wiki I found online, the Yamato 2199/2202 real world size was listed at 333 meters, while the Garmillas was listed at 270 meters. Either the wiki is wrong, or the SOC sizes are not consistent.
