Actarus, not hard to find a new one at 50000yen ballpark on Mandarake or Yahoo JP auctions. Hope you find one with a good price, or a reissue really comes along the way.

Well it depends on a lot of factor, depending my saving at the time I find one.
For instance, at 50000¥, for me it's 655$. It's a good price compared to the eBay price, but I can't justify paying that much right now, for this.

You are so right Kuma. I don't want a filler piece, it's the Riobot I want. On the other hand, I can't justify paying 1K for it. With the kids, the house and so on, I can only wish a reissue, at retail price. It's not crazy hard to find one in the 5-600 range but regardless man the saving has to be in effect. Most of us here can empathize with house and family being a priority and we all make those choices daily. I'm just saying that it's not impossible and if there's a will there's a way. Regardless I just wouldn't advise settling for what is basically a licensed knockoff if your heart is on the original. That goes for anyone else here.

Yep, with summer comings, I have a few things I intend to buy for the home.
Someday I will see one, and the price will fit.
And hopefully it will be the original release, not the power activated version

A test sample review of the Hagane Works (in Mandarin). At first glance, here are some of the structural difference I can spot that is different from Riobot:
- smaller & lighter than Riobot, as indicated in previous discussion. - new head gimmick while allows the full length Pilder to dock, might have lessen the neck articulation range. - mid waist got simplified without Riobot's loose top plate, but became just one solid piece silver mid torso. - black 'speedo' can be lowered for articulation, don't remember Riobot has that. - one of the double knee joint has ratchet - attachment of the wings are simplified into a single round peg on the back, not the complicated odd angle hinge setup on Riobot. - didn't see the shoulder nubs being swivelled (where the 2 smaller swords come out), looks like the swivel joint got omitted, but not 100% sure. - looks like the spring loaded red clear chest plate articulation also got omitted.

This looks cool, still don't understand why a giant piloted super robot would need a throne to sit down and relax but oh well lol.

I like the changes they made to this hagane works version. I remember the Riobot's chest and abdomen articulation was a little too complicated for its own good and had some instances of breakage. The neck articulation in the video looked fine to me even with the pilder gimmick, cool stuff. It even looks like they modified the elbows to have more of a natural bend. All in all a very tempting piece to pick up, now watch as they release a version later down the line that's even bigger than the Riobot version.

Looks very promising.
The figure looks very stable with no "over tightened" squeeky joints. Fantastic.
The only thing id want is better or more at this point would be, more natural torso movement and diecast on his feet...
The Price seems fair when considering average D.C. Chogokin is around $150 MSRP.

thank you for posting and translating this, it answered the last question i have about the Scrander and how it connect to the figure
i like the fact how you can play with the waist without been afraid that the figure will break

lol, actually this is very accurate to the SRW game, Mazinkiaser had three mode
Demon mode, in here Mazinkaiser could move on it own, (early in the game he was caged in a hanger sitting in a thorn
Z Mode, where Kouji can control it
the last mode is God mode
here is a clip for it

The More i see it more i like it.
The detail mold on the back is not as crispy as Riobot but hey...
On the plus side, he says Hagane Kaiser can use any base with 3mm peg.

I cant believe [the riobot] is around 15 years old...
Hagane looks tobe missing shoulder butterfly, toe, and mid torso joints.
Good way of looking at it is at least Hagane will be more "solid" haha

wow 15 years old ? you sure about this ?
also in the prototype reviews we saw for HW Mazinkaiser it had the shoulder joints maybe not as wide as the Riobot but there were there, the torso joints are also there
i think the HW will be more solid due to the extra diecast in the thighs it will help the figure to be more balanced
anyways it was just a prototype, let wait and see the final product

LOL , I am WRONG!! Its "only" 5 years old. Sorry fellows.
What's wrong with me? (oh man my brain is useless....)
But i meant the "mid" problem torso joint from Riobot isnt there on HW. And Specifically the HUGE butterfly shoulder joint (the joint even "included" part of his back) on Riobot seems to be out of HW...
