Thanks Magmatron!
Out of curiosity, why not NY?
I'm curious 'cause they do have the best price on Baikanfu at the moment.

Thanks Magmatron! Out of curiosity, why not NY? I'm curious 'cause they do have the best price on Baikanfu at the moment. Well, more than other stores it seems people have negative experiences with them. Main two that stick to mind is that they charge early for the item and that they ship the item late. Hobbysearch actually have it for cheaper and I think they're more trusted? www.1999.co.jp/eng/m/10705682

Gotcha.
I've never heard of Hobby Search. I will check them out. Thanks for the info.

After many months, mine finally arrived from NY (they wouldn't ship EMS due to covid and I had to pony up even more shipping for UPS). He is bigger than expected and with the lightening parts on, doesn't even fit on my 12" gokin shelf which has Dairugger, Max Gokin Big O, Iron gear, etc. on it. I love it but still feel it's pricey.

Recently got lucky and found one of the last copies at Robotoybase after N-Y messed up and missing out on the initial preorders months ago. Haven't fiddle with all the stuff yet. Just took out the main figure and tested out some joints, as well as comparing to the old CM's. To my surprise, regardless of the POSE+ being like twice as big, their weight is very similar, with POSE+ possibly feeling just a tad bit heavier. The diecast distribution is very interesting, with rarely an entire section is made of metal like traditional gokins or SOCs. Often you find just the front panel is diecast but not the sides, or diecast in the hip but not the skirts, or diecast on the bottom of the feet but not the black 'shoe', and no diecast on the lower leg, yet the gold circular ankle caps are metal. The figure does look great and pose well, though I really wished they picked a more yellow/orange gold paint than the current champagne gold, making it look a bit off when compare to the anime look. The red chest cover also doesn't close flush on Goshogun's right side, which seem to be a common problem as I remember the ToysTV review mentioned it too.
After handling Baikanfu, and now this, POSE+ feels a bit lightweight overall, with more plastic on the outside while diecast metal being distributed to many places, with a panel here and a couple joints there. Due to the figures generally being pretty big, and the abundance of nice ratchet joints, they don't give off a cheap feeling. But they don't give you that old school heavy weight with the cold touch everywhere either (which the CM's does excel in, but joints not as solid as POSE+). Its an interesting philosophy on how POSE+ approach toy engineering as what they see as a more ideal gokin design. With SOCs became the norm of gokin collecting, it is refreshing to see a different approach on these POSE+ releases.

One thing I like Goshogun more than Baikanfu is the box. While I still think POSE+ can use some better graphic design layout on both, the thick sturdy cardboard they used for Goshogun's box is superb. While they switched to the thin SOC style box for Baikanfu, and the extra big box size made Baikanfu's feel especially flimsy. Goshogun's shoe box style with very thick cardboard is awesome. Very confident grabbing it in hand when I was moving around my 'pile of loot' and find a good place to stack it without any worries I might accidentally bend a flap or scuff a corner. I hope they stick with this kind of box in their future releases.

Hi everyone, here's my review for the Awaken Studios Pose+ Goshogun. Please enjoy. Please click on image to jump to the page: Beautifully done. I love this figure a lot! Diecast content is fairly good, but nowhere near Fewture Gokin levels. One minor annoyance though is that the plate on the bicep area keeps falling off. I'm tempted to glue it in place. lol.. After handling this, I'm super excited for their GGG offering in April 2021. Gold

Great review Gold. Very informative on the show tidbits, and gotta love how the show got butchered in the dub when the sword is named an axe while the axe is named a sword. Glad I didn't witness this monstrosity in my childhood.

Glad you're back to doing reviews, Gold. You're the rare written reviewer and I miss people like you. After handling this, I'm super excited for their GGG offering in April 2021. But don't rub salt in the wound for me. I'm starting to regret going with D4 for the Genesic Gaogaigar, since it looks like the Pose+ figure will be exceptionally good.

Glad I didn't witness this monstrosity in my childhood. Thanks Mpchi! Hahaha, actually, you don't know what you're missing, the Saban English dub had a lot of 80's pop soundtracks mixed in. It's.... an experience to say the least. Can you imagine if all the familiar Super Robot Anime from the 70's-80's had this vibe? Haha. Hilarious. Glad you're back to doing reviews, Gold. I love doing reviews when I can, I just really wish I had more time to do them. I'm still working on catching up to 2020's releases since a lot of stuff came out during the local lockdowns here in Manila. The ports were closed for months and things only opened up late August and I only started working on more complex reviews like for SOCs/ Goshogun/ Sol Gravion during the holidays, when I had more free time to do them as complex reviews. Next week, I should have the Sol Gravion, Tryder G7 (R) and Leopaldon (R) reviews up and ready. Gold

So after some deep thinking. I decided to pickup this thing from Robottoybase (I hope that Spain shipping isn't a problem for them). I was between this and Sentinel's Getter 1 (Devolution). Devolution looked good. But I just love GoShogun's design. And Baikanfu gave me a very good impresion.

Devolution looked good. But I just love GoShogun's design. And Baikanfu gave me a very good impresion. Both are very good choices. Goshogun being more meaty and bigger with clickies and the classic look, while Getter 1 Devolution has a cooler and more personality (the wired cape) and more detailed sculpt. It is the best Riobot execution in my collection so far, very solid. If you like both, try to get both. They are both top tier, from my first hand experience. Personally, I think Getter Devolition looks better as a display, but Goshogun does feel like more bang for the buck.

I will get Getter 1 eventually, for what I am seeing is more solid version of their Shin Getter. I hope that its on stock when the time comes.

Getter is currently still available at D4Toys (but marked up anywhere else if you can even find it). Though tough to get it if you just paid for Goshogun already. www.d4toys.com/index.php?route=product/product&search=getter%201&product_id=730

Unfortunately you missed out on the second batch that came out early this year and it seems to have sold out everywhere. Best hope there's a third reissue.
