I can tell you this, I am not buying anymore first release figures from Bandai again! The re-releases seem to come with more accessories and offer more in general, so why buy the original release anymore? The only originals I am buying from Bandai are the Shin Getter trio if they ever make them

sorry i didnt watch the show so i dont know the ships name,
for me its not always a rule since the GX-59R is not that good for me, the GX-40R is stupid joke loaded with QCs
in extremely rare cases i go for both the regular and the R, you telling me if Bandai release an R version of the GX71 i will let go ? hehehe hell no

Bandai change the company director about two years ago. I think this new wave of re releases might be part of him changing bandai strategy. Most of bandai re releases used to be an exactly reissue, now they include new paint job or new extras. I guess they are appealing to hardcore collectors. I found this useful since I had the opportunity to get some releases I missed at retail price, but if I have the old release I don't bother with getting the new one (the extras are mostly small changes).

For those that skipped it the first time around. Trider G7 is one of the largely unsung gems in the SOC line. Just everything about it feels good in hand. Nice smooth ratchets. A lot of metal. And a metric crap ton of accessories.

Most noticeable difference is the white painted thighs, arms etc, instead of the silver on the first release.

Bandai strategy is still the same since 2018
do every super robot or battle ships that Saud hate
joking aside
its a business move, they want every one to buy even if they only show interest in the product
when they reissue any figure only those who could not get it will go for it, however if they change some tiny details and gave it some extra accessories it will sell out more units since those who already have it might take a bite specially if its a really good figure
Most noticeable difference is the white painted thighs, arms etc, instead of the silver on the first release.
also the air craft they add instead of the tank
i might grab one

Yes I agree with you. But years ago reissue weren't that common (I'm talking about soc, but also myth cloth, metal build, Metal composite, sh figuarts). It seems New management want to milk the most out of every mold (even SH figuarts are having a cheap reissue). I don't think is a bad strategy, I'm not against nor in favour, but when an item becomes less exclusive sometime is less attractive to collectors.

for me i want every one to be able to have what he\she want, its cool to have exclusives in your collection but you also feel sorry for those who couldn't get one
a figure i have that many people couldnt get is DX Mazinger

Ehhh Bandai king of reissues. It’s not like any of previous releases were hard to get. Just like Figure industry just do repainting. Then see these heavily discounted later on. Not wasting my money repaints or -R

but not every thing get a reissue and some of early releases are insanely hard to get or even to find for a good price
Daimos Tetsujin 28 the Tobikage trio
General Franky Dygenguar & Außenseiter
all of those are really hard to get, thats why an R version is a good thing
if you already have it you can skip easily but if you dont, the R version is just a sweet opportunity
for me it doesn't worth all this wait just to get couple of accessories

A bit of both. Mainly the former due to how much these guys can already take room as is.

The only originals I am buying from Bandai are the Shin Getter trio if they ever make them I actually like the first release colors better on Tryder, and I like the big trailer combined into the super long ship. The new ship does look fun though, but I'll take the old one even if I have the choice to pick again. Same also goes with Daitarn 3, like old more than new. So its not always the new version is better. Sometimes it is.

well after the DX and the EX Gokin Getter's i dont think box space is an issue
i an understand the detolf space, but i rather have something epic in a box than never having it
