If its Bandai-Premium exclusive, it might actually be easier to get.  Yeah. How easy was it to get the Kakizaki Variant of the VF-1A? I skipped cause I really only had plans to get one Valkyrie and not a squad. The green Valk and Max's Valk are still generally available to purchase. Just not Mr. Fokker's. I guess people like the Asian-colored Valk. ^_^ And no, I'm not being wacist if I'm being wacist to my own kind. |

Like you, wasn't planning to get that one, but it wasn't all gone within mins if I remember correctly, maybe a couple days or longer. |

I think Bandai seriously underestimates the demand these figures have outside the East. If there were a BigBadToyStore option,I would love to use that as an alternative. But for some reason around like 2012 or so,BBTS stopped carrying the Yamato/Arcadia Valks. |

They’ve been holding the license to sell Robotech stuff for many many years and basically gives legal trouble to retailers trying to sell Macross products outside Japan. Look it up it’s a well known thing within the Macross/robotech fandom. |

I seem to remember hearing rumors about BBTS receiving a cease and desist letter about pulling their Macross products. That was the end of getting Macross through BBTS.
When the whole world’s macross fans are buying from the handful of retailers the phenomenon we observe only makes sense.

Hell,Saban does a better job with the Power Rangers properties compared to Harmony Gold. You do not see Bandai Japan getting the same C&D preventing them from selling their stuff to the West. |

That’s why they’re so hated by all Macross fans.
The good news is their trademark is expiring soon so hopefully we’ll see improvements in product availability and distribution. Will probably take a couple years.

Last I heard,HG teamed up with Funimation to stream episodes of Macross if I recall. Yeah,after the drama of HG and the recent dramas of Funimation that made them a shell of a company they once were to where some are forgiving 4kids Entertainment now........ I do want to believe but in my experience,life has a way for dashing hopes and dreams. |

I want change to happen and maybe fans will not get screwed over.
But it seems most fans of various media have had to endure various gut punches when it comes to their favorite shows and the like.

This is why I don't hold out hope any more unless if Cancel Culture for some reason seeps into Harmony Gold like some MeToo sorta deal. Cause I don't really mind if HG goes under one way or another. They(Tatsunoko) always do this renewal of the HG's license EVERY time the date is up. This ALWAYS happens. |
