Bandai: "Let's put the Metal Build Mazinger Zero project in the freezer for 2 years...no, make it three."
Though in general, I don't think Bandai is beaten per se, just that they have not consistently proving to us that they still have the 'touch'. GFFMC Zaku is still an engineering marvel. PG Unleashed is pretty outstanding. The DX VF-1s are great (though they messed up the Fast Packs fighter mode connections). Some HMRs are very solid. Some of the Robot Damashii figure articulation is crazy good, especially the newer ones...etc. Its just that you find these gems scattered all over the place in multiple lines (and kind of random), sometimes in lesser known releases that are not gokin focused. And while I have high praises for POSE+ and Sentinel, I do find SOC fit & finish is still better in many cases (like things tabs in better, or the ratchets clicks nicer, little inner pieces that makes some parts move smoother, knowledge that came from years of experience).
But if you just count the major gokin releases lately, yeah, Bandai's is not up to par to the rest of the competition. Bandai can reclaim the gokin throne if they want to, but they need to get their crap together and focus their talents and know-hows all in one place.
Back to CCS Zero, I think what's left is just good QC to carry them through the finish line, then we can rest the case on who made the best Mazinger Zero gokin in the market. If nothing goes wrong, for sure I'll like this more than the Fewture Mazinger Z in my cabinet. It is like a major upgrade of that same design, heck, even their size match, now that I know its that tall.

and actually i saw those, they are similar to the one they did for Gurren Lagann, im not sure if you got GL, but the articulation is not as dynamic as it should, its no even close to the Hagan work Mazinkaiser, but its not bad at all for the size and the weight you get decent articulation, for my another point, please check this post
as you can see the figure is good but there is some issues, its like having a beautiful car but it have some problems here and there, and thats my main point Bandai might be taking a nab at the moment but at least the QC are very low, they dont forgot to pack stuff or duplicate stuff, and if its happen its very very rare thing to see
i really hope they nail this Zero and update the joints for even more range articulation, the only thing i dont like about it is they let the LED leak to the mouth it looks like halloween pumpkin lol

CCS is evolving! they hardcore mecha thunderbolt was great, they improve and released GL and now they are pushing it further with these Mazinger Zero. They are learning and taking notes... so we can expect them to keep growing in quality as their sales goes up.

No, I don't own Gurren Lagann, however CCS Mazinger Zero from the images and videos they had released, it's got better range of articulations than Sentinel Mazinkaiser in many parts. The Hagane Works is more like a dumbed down version of the Sentinel as it's missing some of the key joints,
alright, honestly i was thinking the same, that the joints system CCS are using is very good and will help with extreme dynamic poses, but sadly that wasnt the case, there is two ways for me to till if the figure have good articulations (joints) and good engineering, by doing two pose's
first the high kick pose and the second is the famous iron man pose
on my unit, GL couldn't do both, but that's doesn't mean its a failure, its still a great figure over all, it just not up there when it comes to the extreme dynamic pose
i dont have Sentinel Mazinkaiser since you know my opinion about it, but i do have the HW, and i can tell you the joints its missing is not a huge deal, i managed to do both of the pose i mentioned with ease (and even more)
i think that the HW Mazinkaiser is more play friendly and more durable than the Sentinel
now for the main topic which is Zero, i saw from the promo clips there is improvements exactly in the feet but the rest is about the same as GL, maybe that will help the figure become even more articulated than GL, also maybe the robot design will help
lastly i really hope they learned for GL and give us a good product, specially in the QC department, since all eyes are on them now, no loose joints no missing or duplicated parts, and for sure no bad assembled parts

Looks like packaging design got slightly downgraded from what they did for Gurren Lagann, though still nice enough. And it can do an Ironman kneel, though barely (due to hip joint range not tailored to do so), but ab crunch will be enough to compensate. Overall articulation looks very good. Just the QC man. Please nail the QC, and I'll have no complaints at all. Very promising looking.

Packaging was good (they packed really good my metal club Kshatriya but I guess it was because many people complaint about receiving the first batch broken due to the original packaging being garbage), both purchases went perfect. I even sent the items with their free shipping (I dont know if it is still available since I bought before the pandemic) |
