That's cool Baldios really doesn't get the love, the robot next to him. I just know that silhouette but I can't think of the name, I KNOW that robot lol.

So very glad that Baldios is joining the POSE+ lineup. Similar to Ideon, Baldios gave me a very bad vibe in my childhood due to its "Gundam knock off" head design (instead of GM in a red track suit), even though I never got the chance to watch the show. It was not until a few years ago when I played SRW Z2 that Baldios caught my attention again. The theme song was quite nice and soothing, the robot attacks and the time/space warp concept was cool. Even the main character Marin was voiced by one of my favorite voice actor (the late Kaneto Shiozawa) in the original. Like Ideon, the more I know about the show, the more respect I have for it. Baldios also has a very origami-like combination that is both odd and unique. So having POSE+ in the helm will probably get it right, and much better than CM's attempt many years ago. Baldios is definitely the top obscure robot on my wish list, and pretty darn surprised when it just got announced. Yay!
Baldios' attacks are pretty cool and unique in SRW Z2.

I'm excited for this one. What are the chances that it will look like the upcoming Moderoid? Sometimes they use the design of another company as a base for them. Though comparing the below image to the silhouette it doesn't seem to match.

I think they just traced over this drawing for the announcement, not the silhouette of the prototype. And POSE+ has always been designing their own sculpt so far, rather than copy Bandai's or other company's. But I am not surprised if there will be some similarities.

One of best anime series I’ve watched from start to finish. Buying this piece regardless of price.

I was thinking more the other way around, since a decent number of Moderoids were fully based on another figure, such as their Mazinkaiser, which looks the exact same as Sentinel's. They probably license it.

Baldios pretty much got completely destroyed except the head. Which they savaged and rebuilt the rest of the body into this.

Not much happened to Baldios in the movie at the end. It helps in a fight tearing down the bad guy mothership reactor, but not a showdown with a boss mech like you would expect. The story focused more on the human characters and less on the robot fights.

Based on the movie (since that is the only version I watched), Baldios has a good story to tell with a good concept of utilizing hyperspace/time warp as the key element to the series. And like the movie poster suggested, the focus is on both Marin the main protagonist and Aphrodia, the female antagonist. Though unlike Gundam, the show has a lot less elements that worth merchandising. The enemy mechs (or lack there of) are just not cool and mostly weird looking ships with arms or egg shape things that just not very appealing as toys. Nor does it have the deeper mysterious Ide energy in Ideon, with more detail epic battles and better animations you see in the movies. Baldios the movie didn't age well and fell short to be one of those great classics. But has a very good story that is worth a watch for sure. I can see a modern remake of it being pretty epic.
