Nice to see a more positive side of things, with SRX looking pretty solid after putting all those pieces into place. Like some other reviews, Wotafa also showed rotating the ankle ratchet joint 90 degree to use the ratchets on side-to-side rocker, rather than the intended front-to-back ankle movement to add stability. I guess that helped to lock up the ankles to not have any give for the entire figure to lean forward or backward on the feet and above. I might have to do the same on mine later on. Hopefully the figure is stable enough to not rely on the stand.

Hahaha. Just randomly saw this youtube thumbnail, and I can't help but LOL. But when I clicked in and check out the music, it is pretty badass! Shin SRX Team: "VARIABLE FORMATION da!!!"

Saw this posted on Facebook of someone doing a comparison of sizes between their SRX and their DX Soul of Chogokins.

After playing with mine it's an amazing looking figure, but frustrating to pose as it seems to want to come undone at times. It's also very easy to chip paint or damage pointy ends, so be extremely careful when handling it.
I do now forgive how small the individual figures are because you end with a truly large figure when combined, mostly thanks to R-3's carrier unit. That alone is almost half the total hight of the figure. The sword is equally impressive when it come to size, but that also makes displaying it inside a shelf difficult, unless you use the stand to simply display it standing next to SRX, instead of being held by it.

How many people were able to get R-GUN? Why is it so hard to find???
EDIT: Nevermind, found at lots of US shops at $230, and at ShowZ/Gundamit at $170

I got my R-Gun for a while now, like about a month or so. Just never got the chance to open it yet (same with SRX). It seems such a daunting set, not something you can just open and play. Might be a while before I get to them.

Might be a while before I get to them. This set definitely looks like something you need to allocate a good chunk of either your morning or afternoon to. Nothing wrong with that, but it definitely doesn't seem like something you can casually pull out from the box, transform quickly and set down and do something else without making a good mess on your table. I am feeling a little regret I did not get the SRX during the Bandai Black Friday sale for $385. I did see it restock twice too during the holidays, but it was at a really bad timing when I had to focus funds on other things like Christmas shopping and other bills. And after the holidays I did have the money to afford it again, but it's never gone on sale again. lol That being said, I look forward to your opinions mpchi when you get around to unboxing and examining the R-Gun.

Yeah, it hurt almost just as bad seeing the SRX Black Friday price just soon after receiving my set that was bought at full price. But that's just how this hobby is sometimes, and occasionally, luck do swing our way and get a really good deal or two. SRX is not really sort after, so you might still score one cheaper if you keep looking/waiting. Kind of like Sentinel's Changerion. Really good release of a SHF size super hero I never watched the show of, and asked for $150-160 at release. A few months later, saw the price dropped to $100 last week. Trigger pulled.

I think the two options available to me: 1) my local anime store has it for $599.99 and I think even 2) Amiami after shipping would still be a cheaper option for me than buying direct from the Bandai Namco shop which still has it at $650 (tax & shipping I previewed at a total of $721.76). I think I remember now why I got cold feet during the Black Friday sale. Because I knew my set would not be complete and I would still have to hunt down an R-Gun set. It will be interesting to see if the R-Gun would go on sale at some point.

I do wonder how this will stack up against the SMP.
At least size-wise.
Cause as far as the SMP is concerned, that kit is pretty HUGE.

Amiami has SRX for $275 now. I decided to finally jump on it. The listing is for "pre-owned". The contents are still new/sealed/unused, but they list some damage to the box is visible. Their regular listing has now sold out, so I assume these are remaining portions of that batch which might have superficial damage on the outer box, but inner contents are still brand new/unused. I'm not sure how much shipping will cost for this with EMS to Los Angeles, but for that price, I'll take the chance. Been kicking myself since last winter when I didn't jump on the Bandai Namco shop sale when they had SRX for $395. And I have been checking the Bandai Namco link every single day since I slept on that Black Friday sale. lol (Pre-owned ITEM:A/BOX:B)RIOBOT Super Robot Wars OG Henkei Gattai SRX(Released)

Don't have a spot for them in the cabinet, and it is a very involved set with SRX that can't just lie around in the living room (cat attack). They'll need to wait a while.

I see that TFSource is the least expensive I can find one for online from US retailers. They have the R-Gun currently on sale for 24% off ($55) at $174.99. Do you think it could still go lower or am I setting myself up for regret? (6 left in stock)

I haven been looking, but R-Gun brand new is going for 28000yen on Mandarake, surprisingly didn't drop on price like the SRX. The price you got on TFSource is definitely a good buy from what I can tell. Can't guarantee you won't be seeing crazy deals like we did on SRX later, but you already gained a lot on your Amiami SRX deal, and right now getting R-Gun at below MSRP. Sounds like a win-win already. Sure a lot cheaper than my set. 😅

I didn't want to chance it and regret it the deal later on. Was SRX heavily featured in Super Robot Wars? Or did it just have a small cameo appearance? I'm interested in learning more about it as I find anime material for it seems limited.
