Very ... Toyish I guess I am not sure about this one but it is not clicking with me ! is because of the original design or because of the SOC rendition of it ? I will wait for reviews. That's because the armor was always meant to be a toy. It never appeared in the manga, only the anime which was aimed at kids. However Getter Go did have a sword in the manga.

so, the whole thing is going to cost $400? what a joke Close to $300... the gx96 is 185 at HLJ (I made my PO with them and it is still in stock). To be fair the g arm raiser is totally optional and not canonical... yet I need it...

Anime is sort of its own take and a more typical combiner show. The manga is a darker continuation of the Getter Saga among other Getter mangas done by Ken Ishikawa.

not feeling it... The coloring looks kind of cheap... I think I got a quality scare from my last soul of chogokin Gordian and seeing all that white plastic just gets me a bit paranoid...lol.

It's also a secret unit in getter robo daikessen which is why I'm buying it.

I expect this one to be similar to the gx76 spacers... just plastic. It's not great but I want it...

I wonder if it is easy enough to remove the Getter Go's red backpack and fold down the wings, to recreate the manga look. Looks like it could. Maybe we'll see some aftermarket add-on manga style boosters for the back in the near future.

Maybe we'll see some aftermarket add-on manga style boosters for the back in the near future. The section with the wings and nosecone of getter go is removable for the transformation and 1 and 3 combine without needing 2. A manga parts set is viable. I just wish they would have included them, the alt face, and the rifle

my GX-96 finally arrived today...(the package weight is light, will open the box later tonight) I'm very interested in impressions, since not many posted about it here. I imagine this has more plastic than your average SOC due to the transformation gimmick.

Got mine today... box is big and almost 1.250kg... pretty heavy. But... I open it and ships are a bit on the light side, but the three of them seems to have die cast on them, the three have some weight on them. I think most of the weight is due to the stand... which is pretty big... I have to leave for a week so I won't be combining it for now. But plastic is nice and glossy. Looks cool... that's my fist impression

Finally I made some time to play with this one. I have mixed feeling, Transformation is cool, ship look cool, but I feel articulation is limited due to the combination. Also it is a light figure, not many diecast outside, I understand that, again, due to transformation a lot of parts may rub and scratch others, so plastic its better, but I miss the die cast on touch. Once combined the figure has a good shelf presence, and the blue makes it stand out from other getter bros... I wonder how this figure would have turned if they have decided to make a non combiner getter go. I love combiners, in fact the only combiners that doesn't combine I have are the getter, but for some reason, I think non combiner work best with thee getters. Also, I leave some horrible pics (literally) I took:

I got mine recently and opened it today - pretty happy with it overall. I was going to skip this originally as I honestly am not a fan of the design, but that silly armor set and its wide availability on Amazon got me to pick this up.
I'm pretty happy with it after only combining into the Getter-1 form - the transformation was mostly straightforward, and it looks good in this form (as it usually does due to prioritization vs. -2 and -3). My only quibbles: it’s very back-heavy in Getter-1 form, the part with transforming the hips on Getter-3 (wasn't entirely clear to me in the instructions, but I think I eventually figured it out), and there are a few small panels that you add during the transformation to fill gaps.

Hi guys, still playing catch up to the SOC releases, but here's my review for the Gx-96 Getter Go set. Please click on the image to jump to the full review. Close to near-perfect transforming, with somewhat marginally acceptable amounts of diecast. It's not an epic release but the ability to form all 3 robots is something you have to try out yourself to truly appreciate. Gold
