I'm surprised there hasn't been more chatter about this figure lately. It looks like it is in stock on Show Z, but I haven't seen any reviews yet from western collectors. I'm actually nervously keeping an eye on my bank account and the release of this figure, hoping that I can keep my order and not have to cancel due to lack of funds. So more time is good for me, but I'm still curious!

I'm actually nervously keeping an eye on my bank account and the release of this figure, hoping that I can keep my order and not have to cancel due to lack of funds. So more time is good for me, but I'm still curious! I already paid Brandon (Supreme Collector) my entire balance minus shipping. He is distributing via Bluefin and said he expects 2 shipments. The first in early July and the second in mid/late July. I'm glad I was putting away $50/paycheck little by little so that the $638 price tag didn't sneak up on me. Regarding the lack of chatter, I feel/notice there isn't a lot of love for this figure here. Maybe because it's GX-71 country here. lol I'm looking forward to it. I've learned not to compare the GX-71 against this Blitzway, because you cannot compare a 2016-17 figure to a 2022 figure. Just a few years can be a huge difference in terms of engineering/development in a toy. It's like trying to compare GX-44 Tetsujin-28 Go versus Action Toys Heavy Metal Tetsujin-28. (Who is doing that? Nobody, that's who.) They are several years apart and different sized figures. Definitely not apples to apples in comparison, so likewise the GX-71 vs Blitzway comparisons honestly never made sense to me. I think most of the hate against this Blitzway is either from a Bandai SOC purist's heart or the resistance to have to buy a new Golion gokin at almost triple the price point. I welcome innovation and competition. Which is why I don't have strict allegiance only to Bandai, and have open arms for Action Toys, Pose+, etc. It's a win win for the customer.

Ive had this figure for a couple months now and I can say its definitely grown on me major after having it. When I first got this figure, I was amazed at the weight of this beast. Definitely the heaviest gokin out today from my standards(it makes gx-71 feel like a plastic figure).
Pros
1. Most posable voltron/golion diecast figure of all time. 2. Material for the most part, top notch. Alot of love and passion was put into this build. 3. Looks amazing when lit up(however this feature is also a problem. Ill explain in cons). 4. Great display stand and accessories. 5. Excellent packaging. 6. Fits in perfectly with the DX SOC combiners as well as other 1/60 scale/DX scale robots.
Cons
1. Led in the black lion head you have to be very careful when posing as the wiring is very delicate. Wires could snap if your not careful. Unfortunately this happened to me. 2. The heads of red and green lion can be very loose? I heard however this was fixed in the later batches(I believe bluefin will be getting the 4th batch which is the latest). 3. Pilots can be easy to lose so its best to just keep them in their packaging. 4. Some of the design choices are questionable(ratchet in red and green lions arms is half diecast/half plastic, however the plastic seems to be really sturdy quality so this may have been a good design choice overall).
In regards to my first con, Blitzway has an After Sales program you can apply for via the store you ordered from(example showzstore for people who may have this on hand now). Its very similar to bandai/bluefin replacement program and if something is defective or broken, you can get a replacement part for the broken piece. In my case, black lion led replacement. So in about a month I received a new black lion head with a fixed led function and now my voltron eyes/face can light up again. That was probably my biggest issue with the figure despite being a great figure, the led system could of been better(they could of taken notes from DX Soul of chogokin designs).
In comparison to the GX-71, I dont think it's necessarily fair to compare the 2 as blitzway is using a more modern system as far as functionality and gimmicks(lion limbs being covered). However, the GX-71 paved the way for this figure and others(threezero) to make figures more advanced In the design. Even with the lion limb covers, the GX-71 looks most accurate to the show. The Blitzway imho is a modern day interpretation of the classic design(basically realisitc). I think most people will settle for the gx-71 especially now because its much more accessible and rightfully so. However the blitzway is like a holy grail piece. Both are great options and either figure select is a good choice(with threezero being released in a month or 2).

the high price tag and the QCs drama drove people away from it (i think)

to be honest with you i was never against this figure i liked it since they revealed it but the price + the QC + some biased reviewers who try to glorify it ignoring the QC issue and comparing it to some very old SOC releases, drove me away from it
Main issue is and from experience both 5pro and Blitzway have mediocre figures so when they announced this i was like this will be a huge challenge since they never offered a diecast combining super robot before, they got some area covered with those ratchet joints and cool looking sculpt, but they came short in some areas also they overpriced it and then those QC issues
i agree with you on the comparison between an older release and a newer one, but we need to understand the SOC was (and still) the best Golion figure over all, so its only natural to find it been compared to every new Golion figure regardless how old it will get
and we are in the same boat, i like Bandai sure and i also like other companies as well like you said win win situation, but i also have a rule, never pay for something i feel its overpriced no matter what

I just got my preorder from blitzway(4th edition). Feels primarily the same, however I do notice there's no soldering glue on the wires on black lion's wire connection point like they used in previous editions. Also it seems the legs/knees are slightly more sturdy then previous editions(honest the previous editions still feels solid to me in in hand). Hope everyone enjoys theirs.

thank you for your feedback bro, i saw couple of people who got theirs, it had the word "PASSED" on the brown box i think they are checking figures ups and down
the trick would be how to find out which edition a person will get ? there is no significant difference in all 4 releases
which remind me of the MT KOB drama lol

Thanks man. Yea I had that passed also on my blitzway box compared to the earlier version I got. In this, the batteries for red and green were included but not for the others(easy to find them though lr41 and lr44). Now waiting for the threezero voltron lol.
Edit: I was wrong, it does come with all the batteries. Hard to tell when those plastic slits are in the mouths and you don't open them.

thank you for your confirmation
i was (& still) eyeing the threezero Volttron but the paint is a major deal breaker for me so i hope when they release it they gave it a better paint, will wait for you guys feedback before i decide

Yea. The paint doesn't look at potent as the GX-71 or Blitzways especially the lion limbs. Have you seen their Dancouga? What's your thoughts on that compared to the critically acclaimed GX-13/R🤣🤣🤣? Nah but I think threezero Voltron will be good, but different excited none the less. Fantasy jewel is also doing a dairugger with the air team being the first to release.
