I am more worried about the space this figure set needs But Nagai Bless anyone who pre-ordered.
You will need his blessing to afford such a titan.

I applaud those who have preordered it. I live vicariously through you, haha. Aye. Same. Beyond not knowing where I would keep such a beast, it's a few times larger and more expensive than my love for Daiku Maryu. Stunning piece, though. This alone is worth it to sell me on it. The figure is beautiful! Yeah, ain't it pretty?
I admit I'm harboring a slender thread of hope that Gaiking will get a limited separate release sometime down the road. GX-100G or something... (Don't tell me no; let me have this fantasy.)

hello guys long time no post, i hope everyone is doing well, it was a bit of tough times for me but im good with all respect to every one, you are blinded by love, you know when you love something or someone so much that you try to find excuse for ?
same with the price of this figure, for me this an insane asking price even if it include 2 figures, but who we are kidding the start of the show here is Daiku Maryu which bring me to the point of the GX85 King Brakion its kinda the same concept of the GX100 i know the size is at least 2x but still the asking price is a quantum leap
for comparison sake
GX85 measurements
Total length: about 410 mm Overall height: approx. 290 mm
GX100 (Daiku Maryu) measurements
overall length about 750mm couldn't find any info about the height
while i know for a fact Dailu Maryu is bigger plus it have ton of features and gimmicks but still for $630 its a pass for me
for those who want one but cant afford it dont worry it will have a reissue for sure, i saw it in Tamashii site that first release will come with a bonus, so i think thats mean they might have a reissue for it
im happy with this been a GX now we dont have to wait 3 years for the DX Grendizer

And even comparing them, GX85 is a good deal less complex or detailed, and at it's core is a touched up Legacy Titanus. This even caused issues as it was very clear that it was not designed to hold GX72.

Only good if they don't charge tax, since they are in CA (where I am at). It will bump back up pass $800 after tax, which would be on par with Japanese stores, or slightly higher.

thank you man, and yes things are getting better
i agree with you, but if they keep these price's up most of us will be out of the game, and the lucky few will be limited to what they really really want

i know but show me a figure in the SOC line thats kinda close the GX100, only the GX85 stand out, also im comparing two figures from the same line
not sure if you have the GX85 but its not a plain figure, when push it forward the front feet moves, also its very detailed and heavy, most of us thought it will cost alot but Bandai managed to keep it reasonable
im not comparing them directly since the GX100 was going to be a DX but im trying to understand why they priced it this high

It comes down to part count NOT size, for every single part a mold must be made. There are no shared parts with other SOC's to amortize costs plus the electronics and of course the license fees add up.

I actually have it. But like I said, it was literally built on top of the Legacy Titanus, which was $150. That helped keep costs down, and it still was $100 more expensive. I still think it's not as elaborate or complex as GX 100. Not to mention that size to cost increases aren't equivalent. Double size doesn't mean that cost will always have to double it could cost less or (more likely) cost more in order to balance it right. But like you mentioned, there aren't many figures like this in the SOC line. Maybe the ships are the closest next to GX85. I'm hoping for more information to come soon on this to better explain the cost.

When it comes to the gokin toys, double the size usually means quadruple the price or even more. GX-100 daiku is more then double the length of GX-05, and double the length actually means 8 times the dimension. So, $700 price tag ain't so bad considering 1/8 version was sold for $100 20 years ago. I know it's still crazy that a toy would sell for such price, but still.. a full size Daiku Maryu in a diecast form? I thought such day would never come.

Do we know the die-cast content of Daiku Maryu yet? For the price I am hoping it’s substantial, though (at least IMO) I didn’t find die-cast content in DX Voltes V to be that substantial, and more recently, same with Gordian.
