Oh man you guys have keen young eyes…
Didn’t even notice that.
That’s AWESOME. Hope they replaced soft PVC leg spikes to nice hard ABS.

The GX-25R/GX-26R 2pack set is FINALLY available from amz-jp direct instead of those perpetually-camping price-bombing 3rd-party scalpers: www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/dp/B0B41NHWQ7The only bummer is that it is priced at its overprived msrp (19,800y) just like most japanese-shops (except for amiami and ae, I guess). Guess you can only save on amz-jp's shipping (2901y for priority or 2726y for non-priority).
Better get your copy now from amz-jp direct while it's still up and available if you haven't gotten it before the scalpers hoovers it all up again. It's down to only 6 now as of this edit.
Fwiw, the originals were around 5k-yen each back in the day and they included bases with labels. From various yt-reviews from early owners, no changes other than the new colors. No improvements at all, it seems. GG, Bandai... no Wotafa or RPA or OptimusPrimeSG, yet, but here are some initial yt-reviews or so:

Thanks guys for the updates.
I hope Doublas leg spikes are not bendy PVC like the original like the one I have.
(And I HOPE Bandai improved the hip joints…)

For invoiced by AmiAmi- ohh yes
Watching some of the review videos, bit disappointed they didn't make any improvements to the elbows or knee joints, while releasing around same time as GX-105. They could have implemented pull down hips, the behind the knee flap to get more range of movement, or even double jointed elbows, but no.

I couldn’t find any photos of backside. Are screws at least covered?

of course guys what do you think, the R in here stand for recolor not renewal same as some of the R's released in the past two years most came with a new accessories and a tiny bit of change in the shade of the paint
of course these two will feel very vintage in hand since most figures in the market today have some crazy articulation
dont get me wrong i too was hoping they do some new parts in the actual figures bodies but nope lazy Bandai, and their desperate cash grab attempts

They actually have the articulation of GX-01 and look dated next to GX-105. Timeless, but dated. It is cool that we can pick up replicas of these classics, but they are not very "kakumei shinka". It's probably best that they didn't try to patch these two with plastic crotch expanders like GX-29R Black Ox or swappable trunks like GX-70 Mazinger DC. As villains, they're lucky to get made, but both deserve a full redesign to face off against the modern Mazinger SOCs.

Well I did not expect more from bandai. The other villains the showed at TN2022 were supposed to be new releases and were using vintage bodies (one was the one from aphrodite SOC). Yet, I'm still waiting for my boss borot R version....

Because its plastic only for support heavy weight body The elbow and knee joints were actually plastic on the originals and were/are standard for this SOC type. They hold up fine. I do have a GX-01 with an elbow joint that came unglued over time, but it holds together without glue and isn't broken. Still, I would love to see a the weight comparison between old vs new.

Did these GX-25/26 originals have sticky fist or parts syndrome? I was under impression the originals had firing mechanism like firing fist like early SOC. That would have been cool.

Be careful when opening the plastic tray. Some parts like hands and specially Garada tiny eye missiles are easily popping out. I would say the paint job is awesome and I love the Doublas necks.

call me crazy but i really dig those two MORE than the GX-105
even tho they are very old, but the sculpt the paint, and the effort to add more fun and playability to simple figures is just respectable those figures are from a time when Bandai gave a heck about the SOC line
Garada color is 10 times better in person its so beautiful i want to paint my car in that exact color
Doublas paint is also good but it was overshadowed by the articulated neck wow fun times
