It's 30cm, about 12" in height 1.4 KG combined weight (3+ lbs)
Doesn't justify that price though. 58,000yen Are they just looking at what Blitzway 5PRO priced the Voltron and trying to figure out how much they can get away with?
It's got some cool features like articulated hands, opening/closing mouth, but...
Ah so he is taller than SoC Voltron. This could be Dx tier

Not quite DX, in terms of size, unless it has another additional 5-6cm in height. But it is big, on par with SOC Ideon and POSE+ Baikanfu at 30cm.

I love the way this looks, Dancouga should be a walking tank not all athletic and stylized.

I think this would be DX style dancouga as If you think about the height of the robot(38 meters), hes smaller then golion or voltes(near 60 meters), plus the display stand and how it's designed is very DX like. Looking forward to this.

Looks incredible. Think we will ever get a 2.0 from Bandai's Soul of Chogokin?

Here is a video with Wotafa where a sample of the Hagane Works Dancouga is being shown off with various features of the toy being highlighted.

watched the video, the gimmicks are brilliant! especially that arm track part was ingenious and practical at the same time. looks very solid overall though I wished they had some light up gimmicks since this is a large figure, but my real problem is that its face is way too small for my likings. wish they had increased the size of the face by 1.5 times. Funny enough the face of Dancouga is said to be too big especially the old Popy/Godaikin version. My main concern is the connection for the feet. You have some slider ports as well as a small clip that I am iffy on. Like was there no way to make it die cast of even bigger?

The old Popy really had a big head and skinny legs. Very funny proportions that were okay back in the day. Modern Dancouga toys have been making the head smaller and smaller. The SOC had big wide shoulders and the head already felt small, but the Sentinel one I think made the head even smaller compared to the body. So far the GSC one looks balanced enough to me. If it had a bigger face, then it would look like a helmet head. Pics: Popy, SOC, Sentinel, GSC

Companies really should include an extra head for our robot figures.
One accurate to source, another one accurate to previous gen toy…and maybe another one in between.
As good as this one looks, the head does look bit small (looking like a pilot poking his head out of robot he’s controlling.)

The only stuff from Bandai I have been getting were some Kamen Rider belts and the mecha for Donbrothers. Well,so far just the Don Onitaijin. I wonder if Bandai is still doing their SoC Exkaiser. I kinda need to sell my Masterpiece if they have that and Dragon Kaiser down the works.

I wasn't OK back in the day. Every one I know considered it butt ugly. Always thought it was weird looking back then when I was little, as well as among vintage collectors of today.

HAHAHA Maybe I was less picky when I was younger and didn't mind some ugly robots.

watched the video the amount of diecast is legit enough to justify the price, not sure about the articulation tho it looks a bit limited

This can't be right, it looks nothing like how I remember it from my childhood.

The one I can think of worse is vintage Transformers G1 Ironhide/Ratchet. Now THAT needs imagination on a whole other level. But yeah, that vintage Dancouga set is considered as the ugly duckling among the pile. Definitely needed some extra love to love it.

Our young brains use imagination to fill in the gaps to make it look like what we saw on TV My brain worked overtime because my parents couldn't buy it for me. It became that one toy I always dreamed of owning as a child and never forgot. I always wanted a Dancouga but for one reason or another didn't buy any. I might buy this.

Many of us couldn't own one as a child. Either admiring from afar at store window displays (I believe I did see vintage big Dan on the shelves at the time), or occasionally get some hands-on time from the ones own by your rich classmates, bribing them with your snacks for a few minutes play time.
