I saw BBTS just listed this figure for $359.99. Ouch!! I feel that's a little steep for a non transforming and/or minimal accessoried SOC.
I feel bad for any SOC completists.

Prices are getting out of hand as we all know. I for one, am getting a bit tired of LED gimmicks. Its seems lazy and as collectors, don't we just watch it light up once and take the batteries out and never bother with it again?

for me personally i like LEDs i think it should be the new standers like double jointed knees and elbows
true its fun while i play with it, then it could take sometime till i fire it up again but still i think its very neat feature (IF) done correctly

I have my buddy snagging this for me in Japan. BBTS is adding a lot to the cost it seems.

I have my buddy snagging this for me in Japan. BBTS is adding a lot to the cost it seems. Yeah, its more like $240 in the current exchange rate buying from Japan shops. Buy from Japan shops that you can pay upfront, if you want to lock the exchange rate (it was not as good as a month ago, but still very good at about US$1 = 130+yen right now). Don't buy import stuff from BBTS, their prices are very bloated on them. $400(plus tax and shipping) for something that can be had for roughly $300 shipped... BBTS are still good with releases that distributed in US however, with more normal pricing.

For what it’s worth, it’s not unusual for BBTS to adjust their prices down closer to the actual release. I don’t know why they do this but I recall BBTS dramatically over estimating the price of pre-order SOC’s in the past only to drop them by, like, $100 a month later and before the product is available. Regardless, as mentioned before, the yen is weak against the dollar right now and it can yield some real savings to buy directly from Japan in some instances. I’ve been getting some awesome exchange rate deals buying vintage from Mandarake over the past few months.

After seeing the YouTube video posted above, it looks very impressive. $240 range would be more reasonable as mpchi mentioned.

Yeah, take advantage of the exchange rate while you can. It was super good about a month ago at about US$1 = 148yen at the highest. Really made a difference especially on higher price items, saving me like a $100 or so on some purchases. It went down back to mid 130s, but still a good 20% discount from the norm of 110-115yen we used to get. Just that the catch is to pay up front now, instead of months later when the exchange rate is unknown.

About 40 minutes of discussion and hands-on play.
I've only watched a few minutes, but it looks like it has clicky joints. Also, very shiny. I dig it.

It looks good. I haven’t seen it up for preorder at too many places. BBTS wants way to much for it.

I have only bought ONE thing from BBTS that was not more expensive to buy from them and that was the DX Mazinger. Otherwise I just avoid. Prices are too high

The SOC Mechagodzilla is a stand-alone release, and is too large to scale well with S.H.Monsterarts figures. If you want to display Godzilla and Kiryu next to each other you'll need to pickup the SHM release, but it costs more on the secondhand market than the SOC.
