It's finally happening! Threezero will be coming back to VOTOMS, but this time with DIECAST in their Robo-Dou line! This will be different from their previous 1/12 Scopedogs from 2017 which were entirely plastic.
First shown is Rabidly Dog (scale currently unknown)-

Oh wow… (I thought I written off ThreeZero?) Thank you for breaking this AMAZING news!! Dude, don't sleep on Threezero! I think they're getting ready to really be Bandai's biggest competition in the Gokin toy space between Transformers, Marvel, Evangelion as their heavy hitters and now adding in more classic stuff like Vultron, Robotech, and Votoms and doing it all in a way more affordable price point than all their competition while still keeping quality on par with Bandai, Pose+ and Flame Toys. I think right now they're probably the best company in terms of value to price. I'm really excited for what they've got planned down the road. They also announced Robo-Dou Strike Dog (on the same post as the Rabidly Dog announcement) and DLX Black Panther on Facebook today.

I was so impressed with their Patlabor Ingrams, and most recently the Robo-Dou EVA-00. Just solid and hefty quality figures.

Votoms is a very good pick for the line and their weathering work. Not likely I'll pick up the Rabidly Dog because I already have the Takara's (in two sizes lol). But if they keep growing the line, I might pick up a couple. Hope they announce the scale soon.

www.threezerohk.com/product/robo-dou-rabidly-dog/ Interesting. This item's 15.9cm/6.2" height is about: - just a bit under half of the 33.5cm of their original 1/12 Scopedog product
- shorter than the legendray 1/18 Takara DMZ-04 that's about 27cm.
- a bit shorter than the Bandai 1/20 Scopedog (7.5")
- about as close to a Wave 1/24 Scopedog (6.5")
It does look quite nicely detailed with opening cockpit and pilot. No mention of metal/diecast content "Zinc alloy die-cast inner-frame", but I still hope the plastic is as sturdy as the old 35Max toys.

Was very exciting about it until I know that is under 16 cm tall. I was hoping it is at least 1/20 scale or bigger…

The zinc alloy die-cast interior frame provides a total of 76 points of articulation."

That's close enough for me to use Hexa Gear 1/24 kits/figures to play with

I wonder how it will look next to the MDLX Transformers, those are between 5-7 inches. It' pretty surprising that it's going to be shorter than the Iron Man figures, I was expecting something closer in height to DXL Bumblebee (Bumblebee movie ver.) or the Robo-Dou Labors.

I was expecting it to be bigger too. The good thing about this size- will be cheaper and easy to army build, diorama build, or save space on your shelf. Just like the Zaku II these are going to get many many repaints and variations, I'm sure Threezero will be dropping new pre-orders year after year at a very fast rate.

I don't mind it small, just that right now it is in-between scale of older figure lines or model kits that made it an outlier size-wise. And I doubted it is going to be a very extensive line going forward, which makes me hesitant to jump in to collect. If it turns out to be spectacular, I might pick up one or two. But it sure falls into an odd spot for me personally.
Just took a ruler and compared that height. It is basically about size of a Robot Damashii or S.H.Figuarts. Hmm...interesting.

The Threezero Patlabor Ingrams were 8.5" and was $129.99, also had opening cockpit and LED police lights on the shoulders. These are gonna be smaller and $10 more.
I get it though, the price of oil has affected everything from supply costs to production costs to transport costs. Everything is going to cost more to make and thus as collectors we are going to have to accept it.
