A teaser for Tamashii Nations next week may be hinting at SOC Gurren Lagann. I wonder how it would stack up against CCS's version? Continuing on the Gainax theme, a possible Canti Chogokin tease too?

Hate bandai... I bought the CSS after they decided to re release the SRC. CSS is great but not 100% screen accurate, also it a bit bigger than what I wanted. There is no official height for GL as far as I know but I wanted something around 18~20cm (7~8 inches). If this happens I will try selling my CSS and going for the SOC, but it would be almost impossible to sell it in my country (and selling outside from here is f*cked too)... Guess I will be stuck with the CSS

oh and btw the official height of Gurren Lagann is 12M, along with Jeeg 11M and Tobikage 3.6M they are the shortest super robots, but dont miss with them especially Tobikage

9 times out of 10 I go with SOC for durability and screen accuracy. After the SRC and its ugly giant knees I'm not expecting this to look good. If this doesn't transform like the sentinel I'm just sticking with the sentinel unless bandai goes above and beyond and knocks all the competition out, which is something bandai hasn't bothered with since figuarts ryuki

I think riobot will surpass CSS, it will be closer to screen accuracy and will be a combiner... I got CCS because I had been waiting for a GL figure such a long time, and CSS was a no brainer when it came ou great (agree with you in that), but seeing the newest options I'm not sure is the one I prefer. Also, where did you get GL height? I've searched it for ages...

Here's an image with GL's height. At 21cm, the Riobot will be almost exactly 1/60th scale. I had the upcoming Riobot preordered, but ended up dropping it. It looks impressive as hell, but I just wasn't excited about it. Don't think I need a Gurren Lagann in my collection. I'm curious to see how Bandai's offering compares, but I can't imagine it winning me over.

Bandai would need some magically engineering to win against Sentinel's upcoming Riobot GL for an accurate representation of the mech, or against CCS GL 2.0 for a stylish take with real solid execution...might be too little too late.

think its a win win for every GL fan, the CCS have more metal and bigger than the Riobot, on the other hand the Riobot is a combiner and screen accurate, for which one is better lets wait for both of them to be released (V2 CCS) and the Riobot
as for the GL height i honestly forgot where did i read that but i keep a note with some details about the robots in my collection

i agree with you they are late for that race but knowing how crazy good they could be (when they are in the mood) im looking forward to as a GL fan i need couple more

I wonder if the good toy designers we appreciated from great older SOC releases have left the team, replaced with newer and less experienced new blood. The innovations they once had are just not there in the later releases.

While other companies as Sentinel and pose+ are not worried about that and making way more expensive products.

there is no official info about this but if you take a good look, the DC line was designed by some of the animators not by the Bandai staff same with the FA figures
its just that it take at least 5 releases for them to deliver a jaw dropping figure i think the best time for me was between GX-70 and GX-79 now its a pass for most soc

but been expensive doesn't always mean better if we compare the Riobot Grendizer to the GX-76 you will see night and day different, i also think Bandai is upping their prices as well seeing how other companies selling less for more

If they can pull of the transformation flawlessly then this will be an impressive engineering release for the line.

Yeah I think I'm sticking with the sentinel. The base is cool and the giga drill is something I wish the sentinel had, but these proportions look off.
