Unfortunately Poison toys kampfer is 1/72, metal build and metal composite are 1/100 so it wont scale well with everything else. If it has been 1/100, I would have already owned it (I had metal club Kshatriya, so no problem mixing some brands as Long as they are in scale)

So stoke they finally made an Orguss! Thou its small but I'll take it anyway! Probably a DX Orguss in the future> I would have loved an SOC Orguss instead of the upcoming SOC Kiryu Mecha Godzilla.

Another small gripe on the Orguss. It still doesn't look as good or as faithful as the Megahouse released years ago, regardless being there for Bandai to reference all they wanted sitting there for years. The cockpit and crouch area is very off, shoulders unnecessary wide, hip/wing intake is very big and boxy, and the metallic brown is really dark. It is a nice entry still as we don't get a lot of Orguss stuff, and probably cost a lot less than the Megahouse's (assuming around 20000yen~ish like their HMR recent releases). But fell the same fate as the SOC Gurren Lagann, being a late-comer and has all the advantage to improve upon the existing competitions. Yet they just did what is decent/minimum, and didn't care too much. Just look at the Megahouse one. Still better and more accurate, regardless being 7 years old...come on Bandai!

^lols, still can't get over that price even after after 6 years... Wonder what Megahouse peeps were smoking the day they came up with that number They had the advantage of being the only Orguss gokin surfaced in the past decade or two, and a very well executed one to boot. They pretty much try to exploit the situation, "If you want an Orguss gokin that is not the vintage Takatoku, this is it!". And guess what, they succeeded. Orguss sold well enough to get re-issued a year or so later. And it still hold value selling on Yahoo Japan auctions at 50000yen and up brand new. I just got lucky to catch a 20-30% OFF discount on the reissue after all the hype died down, which made the price more acceptable. And seeing Bandai's lack of effort, I think Bandai is trying to exploit a similar situation, "If you want a nice modern Orguss gokin but can't afford the Megahouse, ours would be it!".

my bad for quoting you all in one post but i dont want to double or triple post

i totally understand your point of view, and you are right its waaay off scale i display it with my way off scale figures lol
but to be honest its worth getting like it made every other Kampfer figure looks like a KO
and regarding Orguss i have the Olsen Special, (the same one i had when i was a kid) its abit expensive yes but you are getting the best version

i totally agree with you, Bandai gave the minimum in this event, its like they didnt even bothered when they revealed those figures

yes its expensive but for me it was worth it, even tho i didnt manage to fully transform it lol and the lack of reviews didnt help
however it was very durable and have this cool eye catching look to it, you know i wish if Pose + do it lol

I really would like an Orguss in my collection. This was the one I had as a kid circa 1984-85. I remember owning it on 3 separate occasions for some reason. Bought. Lost. Gifted. Lost. Given. Lost. lol

For those waiting on the DX SOC Grendizer I'm thinking it will be shown next year, in 2023 we have a new Grendizer game and Anime and I wouldn't be surprised if the long waited DX Grendizer being shown too since Bandai loves to cross-promote.

Lost. lol I have the exact same thing, but the Japanese release with a box (if I remember correctly) instead of a blister package on a card. It was THE Orguss toy of my childhood, while my rich classmate has the Takatoku 1/40 gokin that I occasionally get to handle when I visit him at his place. Even as a kid, I was quite impressed by this toy. Simple, relatively cheap (I can afford it after saving allowance money for a while), and can transform into so many forms, while actually look like the mech in the show, aside missing some color details.

I didn't know what Orguss was back then, but I knew it wasn't a Convertors original. :) That made it kinda mysterious. I had fun trying to imagine the kind of story it was from.

After GX-101x One Eight, I can't help but wonder: Will these be beautiful but mostly plastic "X" releases? I love the One Eight and would still try to pick up both of these, but I do wonder what "class" of SOC I'm looking at. I'm on the fence about this "X" business. There are a lot of potential gimmicks for C3. It's signature pose is with both arms overhead twirling chains like propellers, and its head fin is a nasty little flying attack drone. A good choice of villain to emphasize the toy aspect of SOCs (Mazinger-Z SOCs in particular). X1 is such a great sleeper of a choice. The story arc is a highlight of the manga and gets surprisingly deluxe treatment in the anime. The X1 design is so hardcore Go Nagai. These are not the most obvious choices, but there are just so many classic Mechanical Beasts, and I enjoy being surprised by Bandai. Bring on the bad guy super robots. My first 3 SOCs were villains.

Rhine X1 and Greenghost C3 probably have substantially more diecast than GX-101X. Greenghost looks like it reuses Mazinger parts like Garada, and Rhine X1 looks like it has a lot of parts in common with the Mazinger girls.
