(still) can't attach image and don't want to hotlink, but seems Bandai is homaging the old Takatoku box for their HM-R Orguss:

Haha, everyone is using the nostalgia card. Megahouse already did that homage box packaging years ago.

For the price it should already be a full chogokin.

For some reason, I don't have a PO for this and can't remember why...I think it sold out super fast?
I will have to track down one I guess.

Just paid for my PO with Amiami.
I was able to watch the entire 1983-84 anime. Didn't really care for it. But I did enjoy the Orguss mecha a lot and can't wait to have this toy by next week!

Saw this posted at Toysdaily. The HMR Orguss turns out a little smaller than I expected. Thought it will be just slightly shorter than Megahouse's, but turn out the difference is more than that. Read a couple impressions that the figure seems solid with no major issues, but the body is mostly unpainted plastic (maybe with surface treatment, not sure), so don't expect those white plastic to have a very long shelf life before yellowing. Now I don't feel so bad paying more for the Megahouse. It is fully painted instead. The old school packaging is very nice, though I have to say the old layout actually looks better with less random empty negative space, since the new shrunk/omitted some of the text. Takatoku (left), HMR (middle), Megahouse (right)

Nice comparison pix! They all look mighty stellar to me. But I hesitated so guess I will be just drooling on the pix posted in socmed and here!

Got mine from Amazon Japan. Will take it out this weekend but so far, loving the packaging and how it looks in-box.

as of this posting, cdjapan still has some HMR Orguss stocks left at 20k-yen: www.cdjapan.co.jp/product/NEOGDS-629946limit is 1x. Express shipping options (dhl, fedex, ems) are quite expensive there, but Registered Airmail is 3250y for 5-12 days wait-time. At least for US destinations.

Don't need one, but that's a good deal for those that do. 3250yen shipping is not bad at all, have not seen that cheap in a while. 5000-10000yen became the norm these days, with large items hitting 15000yen mark. So sad.

Guys, I got HMR Orguss and it's excellent. The size is quite perfect for playing with and transforming. I wish it didn't require a part swap between modes (it's a piece that attaches to the back that locks the shoulders in different places depending on the mode) but aside from that it's a solid toy that you can play with w/o worrying about paint chips (unlike Megahouse Variable Action). The sculpt and proportions looks good. Comes with a flight stand that requires a diff attachment depending on mode, similar to other Macross HMR. PROS: - Good sculpt and proportions - Diecast joints and very good articulation - All the modes look great, transformation is not difficult after 1st time - Good size for desk toy and very sturdy figure CONS: - Not perfect transformation, requires 1 part swap for each mode: robot - gerwalk/tank - flyer - Mostly unpainted plastic...but doesn't look cheap, no paint chipping worries either - Crotch cockpit cover doesn't clip or lock in place in bot mode, so it will get displaced during handling often - Head antenna looks very fragile, extra replacement not included I'm thinking of displaying the HMR in front of the Megahouse in a different mode, and eventually get a Moderoid to display in yet another mode, and I will be done with Orguss, unless I can get my hands on a Takatoku vintage in good condition.
The Tenjin box art is so nice
