I still regret not getting the first one... might go for this one, I'm not sure about the colors. I like it but I have the feeling I'd still be wanting the OG one after getting it... Design is great in both, this one is more ominous while the first one shine for its simplicity. The change of head its a nice touch, but the boat in the first one was a more iconic design I think.

I regret not getting the first one too. I do like the colors on this one, even though I like the original colors much more of course.
I will be getting this for sure. Good job Bandai! Where are the preorders at? Take my money already.

The more I look at this new colorway, the more I actually am liking it more than the original colorway.
I'm leaning to liking the more subtle colorway versus the bright multi-colors of the original. I feel that the new one has a more uniform color scheme. With the original one, because the colors are all over the place, it feels "busy" and is a bit harder to make out that this is a uniform combiner.
I'm excited for this upcoming version now.

That's exactly how I felt about the new colors. I initially preferred the OG colors, but after looking at this more, I feel the colorway better represents the combined form in a more cohesive way versus the OG which is just way too colorful and "noisy". I feel that the individual figures look best in the OG colorways, but when in the combined giant robot mode, the colorway of the D100 looks best. |

I don't have the original, but always been curious about it. I've heard various things, like it's not fun to assemble, and some parts are fragile, so been hesitant to pick it up. This new version does look cool but I prefer the OG colors more. Hope they at least improved on the materials and structure integrity of the combined mode.

Unless they changed the material that the connections on the chest are made with, it will still be fragile
