Action toys do some cool stuff, and also good quality. I Haven't read this topic before. I live gx71 and it was revolutionary in many aspects when it came out, but it also has it flaws. Talking about aesthetics there is room for improvements. Blitzway in my opinion and for what I've seen (I don't own it) seems superior in every way to the SOC (it makes sense since it cost a lot more too). Sorry guys but size does matter haha. Size plays a key role when it comes to decide if I will buy a figure or not. I try to keep my combiners among 25 to 30cm (sentai toys scale), my real robot stuff (mostly gundam) 1/100, and my go nagai and friends (like the getters) in the SOC scale (soc mazinger around 18cm).

It's one of the main reasons why I was never able to fully fall in love with GX-31 SOC Voltes V when it was the only premium chogokin of V5 available. DX SOC Voltes V made up for the lack of size in every way.

Because so many collectors have gone down the SOC route (sizing/scale), changing to something larger means remodeling of everything I have on my shelf. But the Blitzway stuff is SO SWEET, especially because of that high quality and die-cast weight.

No doubt, this is the most anime accurate Voltron for sure but the size😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬. Really wish they bumped it up to 28cm(10 inches), I'd be all on this. I have the anime upgrade parts for the gx-71 and while they are nice, it doesn't look natural imo. Bandai could of gave us an upgrade version but instead we get a 4th reissue in popy colors😬.

The size bothers me that it's not even 10 inches, which is a deal killer for me. It is pretty though, I'll give it that. But why Action Toys chose to make this smaller scale, is beyond me. I like big bots and I cannot lie.

SOC GX-71 is 11.5 inches, Blitzway is 15 inches, Robo-Duo is 10.63 inches. The reason for Action Toys making smaller scale is most likely the non compete clause in licensing contracts. one manufacturer figure can not compete with another manufacturer at the same time. So change the scale and technically they don’t compete.
But I like having smaller scale. I think they are easier to play with. I love all my Voltrons, but the SOC is the perfect size figure.

30.5K Yen with a smaller scale will be an easy pass. But I like the look of this Voltron.

Maybe we will get an ultimate DX version down the line similar to what action toys did with tetsujin28. I think they have a dx version the size of this Voltron as well but I know for sure they're was a 15 inch tall one that looked like the best tetsujin I have seen. Maybe and hopefully Voltron gets the same treatment. None the less this does look the most screen accurate.

The aesthetics on this figure are amazing. Action Toys captured the most screen accurate Voltron ever. It outright makes the SOC GX-71 look silly.

come on bro, not only the SOC but every Voltron on the market
but maybe we can exclude the Mad Toys since it did some thing different and unique

So why is BBTS listing this as only 5.6" inches (14cm) tall? That's less than ES Gokin's figure height.

14 cm is so small for a combiner. Taller than SRC Mazinger-Z, but shorter than SRC Mazinkaiser. I'm on the fence. I bought their SRC-sized Sun Tetsujin when it was released, and but it feels like that size is in the past now. In the time since SRCs were discontinued, collectors transitioned to SOC-sized robots or moved on to "big size" scales. I'd like to know there's a strategy at work here besides Action Toys reformatting their Golion CADs again and again.

5.6" its like same scale with a Marvel Legends Figure. Too bad Its a bit tad small considering the looks of the figure is promising.

That's a different one, right? The mini action Voltron. Not the DX

i guess its a typo the figure is 22cm around 8.6 That's a different one, right? The mini action Voltron. Not the DX
according to some sources AT canceled the mini action version and they went with this one
they created a new line for this now, its called Action Gokin Series
the only figure that belong in the DX line now is Albegas
