S_Gokin I do not like what I'm reading like at All..........
you and me both, sadly its the trend right now in Japan take great classic's and turn them into a soft nonsense, same move was done by Capcom in resident evil with Nemesis a legendary boss turned into Spongebob
the main issue is Grendizer ignited the melodrama in anime and in mech's so odd choice if you ask me
saying i will save my judgment after the show is finished is getting silly now

Unfortunately everyone is shifting to 3D now, though animes like Bravern show it can be done well. And regarding your two examples, I don't know if they're they good. SKL was cheaply animated, and the few good animations were stock footage that got recycled so much. We didn't realize it at the time but Gurren Lagann was the swan song of Gainax, which were one of the best animation studios of all time.

So it seems the show is Decent but the Youtube Premier was them talking about the Show & the goals / Aim of it
S_Gokin FYI Z fought the Grunts fine but got Wrecked by the Vegan General units. Kinda have mixed feeling about it tbh

didnt watch the youtube premier thing, so could you kindly give me the key points, like what kinda goals are they trying to achieve ?
i watched the first episode and it just like i thought the show was done by Grendizer fans (the noobs ones) its a try to force the idea that Grendizer is superior
for those who didn't watch the first episode don't read under this sentence since it will contain spoilers
1-the animation is very bad the motion of the characters are not smooth at all you can see this where Sayaka was helping Duke, but its watchable not wow but watchable
2- the spazer design remind me of the main car in the old anime Machine Hayabusa but lets let it slide even tho Grendizer came out from the rear end of it
3- the first scene where Duke walk in the desert is very very close to a scene in Tekken 7 lol i was like man i saw this before
4-Goro is a horse now .... okay
what made me feel that whoever wrote this is BS is a noob with an elite rank, who knows nothing about Mazinger z or even bothered to watch it you mean to tell me that Kouji managed to defeat saucer beasts and countless UFO's fine in his Double Spazer with only 3 attacks, but struggled so hard to defeat one beast saucer beast in Mazinger z ? and then got destroyed by two ? did Juzo Kabuto used Riobot as his contractor's to build Mazinger z ? because im sure chogokin z doesn't split in half or break that easily
this nonsense alone gave me an idea about what we are going to see in later episodes
lastly im really surprised cutie honey didnt made an appearance, they mixed every single idea in order to have a standing point which a very stupid move, i know they are trying to bring a new ideas and a new universe for Grendizer but this is not how to do it, they changed waaaay to much in a very ugly way
and this is the first episode only, im sure there is more ugliness ahead

S_Gokin Yeah no problem , the Producer mostly wants to Change certain things compared to the Toei version so it goes like this
- This version Seems to be tacking place within the Mazinger Z Events (Which probably explains the lack of Great Mazinger)
- They want to Give Mazinger Z an upgrade of sorts (based on what he said I honestly don't know if it Great Mazinger , Quantum Z, SRW God Mazinger , Mazinkaiser or Even just add-ons)
- Try to make it more uplifting / hopeful (if I got it right) to try & keep it in line with Toei version some way
- Build up of the Relationship between Duke & Kouji (Team Friendship & all that Jazz)
- This last point is simply me but it seems they are hoping this does well to make more (or something within this Continuity )
Overall it's Passable decent showing but him Struggling against the Leader units is a bit iffy (then again the excuse is this is during the main Z events from the looks of it), I really hope they don't adapt the Manga's worst aspects tbh. Cause they were Showing Mycenae Architecture in one of PV's, so I guess will see how it goes but from the looks of it Sayaka will be the Pilot of the Double Spazer this time around (Don't think they'll use the TFO much).

ImpactKaizer thank you for your time and for writing this the main issue is Mazinger started strong, Chogokin Z, Jet Scrander and all, so falling down like this is just pure nonsense for me i saw some pics from the Manga not sure how they will play some characters, like Dr.hell for example from what i see its a show from Grendizer fan boys to Grendizer fan boys

I can see your point of view but I disagree. I see it as an excellent entry point to the Super Robot genre for a new, mature audience. It is first of all a reimagination. I think it's good storytelling and will surely watch it every week. Fingers crossed so at least let's keep our hopes up :-)

trust me, us mature audience still prefers the classics over the modern stuff any day of the week
another point with all respect to you, dont take a trailblazer the godfather of super robots and make look this weak, Mazinger z was rebuild using the New Chogokin Z same alloy they used in Great Mazinger also his power output was increased and became close to Great Mazinger
when Grendizer arm got damaged they used the same alloy to repair it, also the 3 Spazers are made from that alloy and it did fine for the rest of the show
what the writers of the show are trying to do is to make Mazinger look as weak as possible to glorify Grendizer, big mistake

I mean they got the CodeGeass folks & Seed Freedom working on this it's going as I expected it to go tbh. So far it's decent I guess (I mostly see people going back to the Toei version once this is done like they did with the Mazingers & Getters for merchandise down the line ) I'm sensing a funny pattern here ............ As if the Younger gen don't care about mecha IP's much (probably me looking into this too much with Super Robots)

i noticed couple of ideas in this episode were stolen "inspired from" Mazinkaiser
Koji asked Duke who built Grendizer, he said it wasn't built by Fleed or Vega, they say it was built by gods  in the Arabic dub it was changed to super creatures 
remind again who wrote this ?
i will upgrade this to, from Grendizer emotional fans to Grendizer emotional fans
dont get me wrong i love Grendizer but this not how it should be, Grendizer is unique on his own, doesn't need any one to sugar coat it or make other super robots unbelievably weak just to show how strong he is
