Pass. I prefer the original GX-71 colors. Not a fan of chrome. Same with me , since the previous GX-70 more anime accurate  |

Finally ordered a SOC GoLion.
Now where's that SOC Daimos re-issue or DX-Daimos. I'll even wait for SOC Voltes Legacy!

I watched the show as a kid. I loved the show but I couldn't tell you what color his legs were in the show as opposed to the toy but I sure could tell you what the toys colors were what was chrome vs black or yellow..My biggest gripe with the Voltrons being put out now is I want one just like the one I bought for 100 bucks at Uncle Don's toy store in Palm Springs. It was the only one he had it sat in the window so you could see the big box as you walked by. I went there every day figuring ways to save to get it. I had no idea it was the only one he had until I bought it and Uncle Don told me it was his only one congratulations. The window of his store seemed empty after that and all I could find were some Lionbot black lions on the shelf and had no idea what they were.
Anyway the black hips and chrome legs,chrome waist are one thing I've been waiting for plus the chrome joints and tails like the popy which I only found out about 20 yrs later. Will they be doing a matchbox or popy style box? Or will that come when they give us what I know I really want is a Popy box with popy style cello with carded functional missile launchers and missiles. Will they ever give us the missiles again. I mean these aren't for kids and I don't plan on putting anything in my mouth that isn't meant for my stomach. If I have to wait for a large scale DX version to have all the bells and whistles I will be a happy camper but if I have to wait for a dx version and all they give us are lights in the eyes and batteries none of us enjoy installing I will quit collecting...lol

Old school Popy style packaging is very likely, but highly doubt Bandai will do a Matchbox packaging.

Did my pre-order through eknight media..just needed my PayPal that will be billed when shipped. Did not require a deposit..these guys have been my goto guys since the first soc Golion and everytime I've ordered the process seems to get easier.

If they were going to release an original Popy style art box, they would be doing that with this for 50th Anniversary of CHOGOKIN version, since the toy is homage to tha first version Popy toy.

I like the original Gx-71 because it’s more anime accurate, but I don’t really feel the need to double dip. Plus I still need to pay for my Dx Yf-21!

hey subie81, didnt see a post from you in a long time, hope everything is good with you
for me personally i dont do repaints or chrome versions, i like chrome on the weapons but not the actual figure, also like you said this version is more like homage to vintage release not the anime so its an easy pass for me
unless you are a voltron addict and gotta catch em all, then go for it

Agree with the guys here... it does not add enough to have both, unless you are a voltron super fan. Go for dx yf21 that will offer you a complete new experience and figure. |

Thanks for your input my RJ brothers! Yes, I agree with all of you! Golion/Voltron is my all time favorite super robot. I’m an 80’s baby and Voltron/Golion and Macross was my first introduction to anime (along with Fist of the North Star), God I’m old! But I just don’t feel the need to double dip on a mold that is pretty much the same thing. No extras or anything. Now that I’m older I’m a lot wiser with my money. I’m trying to live the minimalist lifestyle so I don’t feel the need to have every single version of a bot that I like.
It’s been a while S_Gokin! I good buddy! Hope all is well with you! I’ve been off the boards for a few years (had some things going on in my life), but it feels good to be back!
