Ok, not unexpected. It is a good mold (probably they could have updated it). I want the mazin emperor G, but not so sure about this one. I like the CCSs more... I will preorder this one but I'll try to get the CCS one along the way (pandemic made me miss the mazinger zero and the great Mazinkaiser).

Yeah, this time not in Sentinel's favor with this release coming out this late, overshadowed by the CCS Zero. Also, it feels like the mold fits Emperor G better with more going on and stronger silouette. I personally like Zero quite a bit more as a character/design, and only OK with Emperor G when I saw it appear in SRW. But Riobot's Emperor G wowed me and got me preordered. While this one so far gave me the lukewarm reaction (similar to their Riobot Mazinger Z with the funny wings back then). Still interested to see its full reveal and all the details, but can't say I am very excited, and less likely to go for this one, when the awesome CCS Zero and Great Kaiser are on my shelf.

Totally agree with you. And, in your case having the ccs version I think you don't need this one. I also pre ordered Emperor, but won't be going after zero. I will wait to a CCS restock or may grab a used one (riobot wont be cheap so probably no price difference between a used CCS and the riobot)

its pointless doing Zero right now, CCS version is still untouchable

Likely Emperor G next year with CCSToys & If I'm not mistake they might Tackle Mazin-Saga next if they are done with well know TV / OVA variants so Normal Kaizer is likely also around the corner.

Afterall, Emperor G is more or less the equivalent of Great Mazinkaiser (which they already made), but in the SRW universe. And Mazinkaiser is overall more popular and can sell more units. They just have to wait a bit longer, way after Blitzway's released, and long enough for collectors to have the appetite for it again. Meanwhile, CCS has a lot in their lineup to kill time.

Feels a little late, but I guess if someone's already been collecting Sentinel's Go Nagai robots and want them in similar scale then this would make more sense to own than the CCS/Heavy Metal versions.

I don't own any of the go nagais riobot releases but I think their style suits perfectly to mazin emperor G (not so much to the mazinkaiser or zero)

I'll def pick this up IF it goes on decent sale.
I have Riobot Mazinkaiser and I am eyeing Emperor (he would be my first Emperor) so why break up a set haha

As for Emperor G I just can't be bothered with him in General (he hasn't wow'd me even in his debut in V) . What I would prefer is other Mazinger Variant's like Zeta , Saga or USA even as it stand recycling the mold this much is not worth even buying it (for Emeror it kinda works but Zero...............) That's my 2cents on the matter

None of the past Grendizer offerings appealed to me. The SOC was too boring, the Ex Gokin wasn't esthetically pleasing to me(desptie mevliking all their other stylized takes), and the Riobot (which I own) was just too small and lacked presence.

Well that explains why I've notice the last riobots are not so easy to find in clearence And many are selling out before release... there goes my hope of finding legendary voltron at a lower price, I'll Start saving for its release.

The Ialdabaoth was their last figure to go on sale at most stores, and it's recolor the Bylefol was actually very hard to get. EVerything since has sold out by the time the figure released. You can get them still for decent prices on the aftermarket, but you'll have a hard time getting them less than MSRP.

Grendizer doesn't have alot of release, im talking about the real good ones (for me at least)
i have the GX-04S, GX-76, two SRC's the first one and the anime color version, King Arts and the EX Gokin
i think those are the key releases for the robot, would love to see CCS take on
passed on the Riobot since the face sculpt were totally off and the fins on the feet looked like a huge nail

Is the head that bad? Actually I like it quite a bit. The panels on the body could be better (not much depth compare to the Metal Builds Mazingers), and the size is a bit too small. So I can see people don't like some aspects of it, or the Spacer may be too gimmicky. But I never thought the head sculpt is the issue, especially when it is a slightly stylized take. What don't you like about the head, S?

i hope both of you are wrong and they do Grendizer next Just for that I hope they skip him But seriously I recall they want to tackle Mazinger Variant's first & slowly do other stuff (I think I read in a Chinese Thread a while ago they want to do either Gakeen or Gavarion at some point) Grendizer in Theory will likely be later after either Kaiser or Emp-G.
As for Riobot Grendizer it's decent if you got the Gift set & at the rate things are going I expect mostly toy makers in china only care about 2 Dynamic IP's
Can't forget the King Arts ones if you want a updated Dizer toys as well........

I found riobot mazinger and grendizer take great. They are very unique and original, I love how they handled the spacer. If I were to have a second mazinger or grendizer Unit probably would go with them (my rule one figure per character forbids it). But, It seems the line was not a success, since we never get to see great mazinger (and it took them a while to sold out). I Wonder when we will see more images of zero...

alright allow me to explain
the main issue with the head is the face sculpt, especially around the eyes they didnt use a bright yellow for actual eyes its a bit darker, on top of that the area around the eyes were painted black (eye liner style) so it gives the feeling that either Grendizer is focusing so hard to read something far, or he is just getting sleepy
you can see it here
and here
so it was a pass for me even tho i think its a very fun figure to handle
