RIOBOT Mazinger ZERO

The last and the first, RIOBOT Mazinger ZERO fully awakens!

From the comic "SHIN MAZINGER ZERO VS ANKOKU DAISHOUGUN", Mazinger ZERO the last and the first Mazin, is coming to the RIOBOT toy line!

With RIOBOT's original added details, its intricate design exudes an ominous aura worthy of its "god of destruction" moniker!

Diecast parts used lavishly throughout the figure makes it a concretely heavy item on one's hand.

The figure is fully painted in color (except for certain parts like the joints), and the signature black of the Mazingers is done with matt-black in certain parts and glossy-black in others, giving it a variety of textures. The use of silver, gun metal, and metallic red in the coloring also provides an extra sense of weight and mass.

Using the experience acquired from designing RIOBOT Mazinkaiser and RIOBOT Mazin Emperor G, a wide range of articulation was achieved for this figure.

The head has a drawer mechanism, allowing for the jaw to open and close.

But the greatest feature of all is the Giant Iron Cutter, which is taller than the main figure itself at 355 millimeters in height!

Moreover, it is full of original gimmicks like separation for Iron Cutter and transformation for the ZERO Scrander!

Looks great, love the iron cutter/swords and what they did with the scrandle. I got mazin emperor so this one is tempting. The only thing stopping me is the fact I still like the CCS more (still waiting for a proper reissue)

This one is certainly my favorite looking zero of them all, and I love the unique gimmicks it has. Might have to pass on it because I'm not made of money but it certainly makes me feel all sorts of ways

I spoke too soon in the older Riobot Zero thread, saying I don't need this when they just showed the silhouette. But after seeing these photos, and saw the gimmick with the wing and Giant Iron Cutter, I think I am going to change my mind. Also realized that this has a better headsculpt than my CCS Zero (and doesn't have a cracked neck like mine either). This looks better than expected, and those poses in the photos just look very cool and natural, showing that as good as CCS Zero is, there are just some stuff it can't do when compared to a Riobot.

Just look at that Iron Cutter! Though I wish the wing is bigger. Everyone keep downsizing it.

i see they are still using the same parts from the old Mazinkaiser sculpt, not bad since its good looking at all but it loss it uniqueness

I wonder how much they save by reusing those parts. It's just the biceps, thighs, and feet.

Not sure what gimmick the CCS verison had other than the LEDs. This actually has that beat due to the modular nature of the Scrander and iron cutters.

Weight information. It is about 150g heavier than Mazinkaiser, which is pretty great, put it along with the weight of Riobot GL (which most of us bought it considered it as heftier than Sentinel's normal offerings). Height wise should be about the same as Mazinkaiser, and taller than their Mazinger Z.

I think its more than that. Mid torso (even though has aesthetic difference, but the shapes are the same, and overall structure are also the same. And don't forget all the joints holding everything together (inner shoulders, elbows, hips, ankles, wrists...etc.). Pretty sure most if not all of those are reused. But the added weight got to go somewhere, hopefully meaning they replaced a good number of plastic joints with diecast ones.

And I really like the more angular arm blades design on this. Zero has a lot more blocky shapes on the arms, legs, and the chest plates. The more angular design flows better with the rest than the rounder CCS blades. And a good way to distinguish the Riobot from the others. I really like my CCS. But I might also get this, as I can see some aspects on Riobot being better.

It's a bulkier bot and the zero strander is still a big thing, so it makes sense that it's heavier, even if it doesn't have significantly more die-cast.

And good point about the internals being recycled as well, but that's not in your face in the same way the other parts are.

D4Toys sales event, with Zero listed in it. But Doesn't look like there is any Exclusive version, so it is safe to shop elsewhere for a better discount. D4Toys has a good based price, but usually cost $100 just to ship, defeating the purpose of any of their good discount.

That's a bit surprising to hear. D4Toys used to have some shipping options, but they eventually phased them out and just have 1, from what I remember. So you are stuck with just their default fast shipping (usually takes a few days to a week). Just the Riobot Emperor G cost me US$115 to ship. Its crazy...

FYI the other option is buying from the Japanese site & Shipping it through a proxy seller they charge 500Yen from there side to receive it much cheaper if you go that route shipping to where I live costs 30 for Shin Getter G last time

Unfortunately the only site that sells the Flame Toys Transformers in Japan is Amiami and they refuse to ship to proxies, so you'll have to instead hope you manage to find one on the resellers, and they're actually more expensive than on D4. For example I don't know if say the coronation set on Starscream or the Hammer for Ultra Magnus are worth spending $100 more than just buying it through Showz.

Maybe I should have elaborated more. In Japan Amiami have exclusive right to sell the exclusive Flame Toys figures, however they keep an eye on proxy shippers and their system automatically cancels orders if the shipping address is a proxy shipper, so you can't use them to buy it.
