Just won one on Ebay (only missing the tiny drivers), but I know close to nothing about the toy. How is it like? Worth it?

I had one of these when I was little (but I'm pretty sure mine was a knock-off). But if the real one was anything like mine, it was an awesome piece (I mean back then even knock-offs had die-cast parts). This was also back when rocket-punch fists actually fired and fired well! It's kinda small when you think about it, but definitely playable (probably the first combiner I ever owned)... I can only imagine how much fun it would've been to have the little pilot dudes with it (I'm pretty sure mine didn't have them either).

I had the KingDam knockoff as a kid. It was a great toy - plenty of spring-loaded missile launchers and diecast. As far as I'm aware, the knockoff had the same diecast content and features as the original. The only difference I remember were the stickers - iirc, the original stickers were reflective foil and the KingDam had regular papery ones... Of course, the KingDam stickers said "KingDam" instead of "Diabattles". The only downside I remember was that in combined mode, it was kind of silly to have the pilots all seated, since the two upper pilots were exposed and would have had a mean case of vertigo.

A-ha! So that's what it was called! Thanks, hiriyu! Yes, I remember thinking the same. I grew up on "anime-magic" like Voltron when a combined robot always has their pilots seated upright (despite the fact that Voltron's arms would be waving around, for instance). And I wanted "Kingdam's" pilots seated inside upright too. However the DiaBattles vehicles were all side-ways when it was combined into robot form!
