From all the discussion. That is exactly what I mean. made in china. I myself am chinese and I tour factories in china extensively. Despite quality control, these slip ups are just because the average worker doesnt really understand quality. Especially when there is a deadline, factories usually let go of some of these defective to make deadlines. Knowing japanese companies, they usually impose penalty for late delivery date. You just need to see what some of the workers are surrounded by, inferior products. There is a great disparity between wealthy and poor. and what the wealthy see is not something that the poor will see in the factory.... The only reason is that if they made any of the SOC in China is because of one thing. the bottom line. We would never have 50 dollar soc if they didnt make it in China......So, it is not because the chinese worker is already making quality products. It is because simply cheaper to try to make quality products. You dont see made in TAiwan anymore simply because although quality has gone up. cost has also gone up as well. So, that is the entire truth. I purchase products from China. Believe me, I have to have another quality station here because I still dont trust their quality.

Does anyone know if they're going to make an SoC version of the skinny Tetsujin 28 that they dubbed for the later Gigantor?

Good insight Zetaking and welcome to the BBS. You said you tour the factories, what products are you involved with (if you don't mind me asking) ? I agree with your point on cost. Bandai has decided that a very low price point $$$ is more important than the number of defects. I agree that you could add a second quality assurance station ......... Ed

I dont do it for a living. But, I have toured many of factories like the max factory's China facility because I have friends who are in the business. I really dont try to involve into the toy business as it is very competitive and highly risky. I make my living by helping ascertain for overseas business both stateside and in other higher labor rated countries who seek lower costs. They look to me to help them find valid and stable manufacturing sources. So, quality is something that I need to determine for the client. Any type of business that deals with China needs to make sure that the quality is there as I have seen so many products that are originally of good quality go south when it lands stateside because the factory is under pressure to meet deadlines.
