 Ok Rather than flood the 2 original Voltes V Threads for the upcoming GX-30 SOC, i decided to make a separate thread to render All the volt ships in 3d software ( Maya 6.5 ) based on the SOC blueprints provided by CHen =) ... I had to do some research as well ... Decided to start off with the Voltes Frigate (4) ... .Started yesterday with the template ...  and ... got around doing some of the parts when i got home this afternoon from work :   They will be 1:1 scale to the SOC blueprints provided to me and I will try my very best to have all the ships be fully articulated .... ;D More to come ...=) Theres not much yet but I should have more time sometime next week ( Ill be on vacation WOOT WOOT ! )

nice start. Can't wait to see it in colour. Please do a Weathered textured version too! I imagine that would look so killer on top of what you already have.

And since were waiting fo GX-30 prototypes to come out(at the end of this month as usual),let's check out this 3D rendition of GX-30.Thanks sideshowsito for making this contribution!Plus it will turn out awesome.

update ... added detail to the leg joint, measured the 'wing' sample and will touch up tomorow , the square on his kneecap,....  hopefully the white background is a little easier to look at than that dull grey ... still planning out how the 'joints' will move. It isnt too tricky but it has to be done correctly otherwise it will be hard to fix if later I realize I made an error with the measurements...  Ill mostlikely end up making 2 versions of Voltes ... starting with the individual ships... then a 'combined' version using all the ships i modelled ( it will need to be rigged properly otherwise it will be a nuisance to animate with all 5 separate ships ... Im excited to do the face from the Volt Crewzer . Ive been wanting to make a desktop of just his face ... still trying to look for a perfect closeup to make things alot quicker . Im quite excited to see the final results of this but boy i sure have heck of a long way to go still .. but im sure it will pay off in the end =) Surfing around the net , stumbling upon Ivan Chen's great Voltes Shrine, I thought of also giving ' SKY ROOK " a shot ... anyway back to bed .. another long day awaits ... |

Can you use this program to make paper models? It wouldn't have to be super detailed but just give you something you could compare too Gx-03.

maya ... you can do anything you want with that software .. although ill be honest , i dont understand what you mean ... like be able to print them out ? you have a cardboard version it you want to make ?

OH UBER COOL !!! Ill see if i can ' flatten ' out some of the details and see if i can try making one of those ' SOUL OF PAPER' for everyone =) ... but looks like alot of work heh .. still way too cool concepts tho !!

hi Oja ! thanks dude ... the rectangular hole is for the landing gear ..
I see that it belongs to the other side of the leg ( noticed that in the earlier ) ... however it made more sense to place it on the other end where potentially the frigate's landing gear would be placed. ( i remember the Godaikin version had it placed at the bottom section of the ' rotating square ( where the lander connects ) ... but I think it would feel more realistic to have the canopy open below thats all .. =) thanks for the feedback tho bro ... ill see if i can work around it again ( damn i wish the blueprints wasnt so tiny ) ..
