DAMN... I just ordered an original color version. How did they get more of these if they are sold out and not being reproduced? WHAT?!!! Where did you find the original color Danguard Ace at? That seems to be the most sought after version of the three. Can you provide the link? }D I have a misb Regular version for sale in the Sale forum. robotjapan.proboards12.com/index.cgi?board=RBay&action=display&thread=13753

The chrome version is actually growing on me, but I think it might have looked a little better if it were a mix of silver painted and chrome rather than all chrome. I also wish my Metallic version looked a little more metallic like the picture on HLJ than it actually does... which is almost not-metallic at all.

Some people like the vintage toyish look of metallic flakes or shiny chrome, while others like the anime accuracy color schemes. I'll go for anime likeness anyday over metallic or chrome finishes. That's why I love AOSHIMA.

Metal is the LAST thing all that chrome makes me think of. When I see that much chrome I am reminded of cheap plastic toys with a swath of chrome paint flakes surrounding them. I think it's rad Yamato is making these different variations though, there should be a Danguard to suit everyone's tastes.

Wouldn't trade it for the world! }D I think the metallic version is anime accurate also... cause it's barely metallic at all, hehe. I prefer the metallic version very slightly over the original version, but the original is nice too. Actually I think most people wouldn't be able to tell the metallic and original versions apart from 3 feet away anyway.

Chrome version looks like it's worth twice the price of the 2 previous versions. So bought.

Chrome Dangard Ace will shine as the centre star of my SOC'ish collection. Now that I think of it the DX Dangard Ace was pretty bling bling shiny as well. Original Yammie DA (thanks Glane!) will be the one I play with.

My real question would be, which version do you guys think will retain the most value down the line?
Does Yamato do re-issues like Bandai does? If so the normal version may one day hit the clearance bin, and I'd be really bombed out if I end up getting the normal version.
Anyway, I only want to get 1 Danguard Ace and can't decide between the three. I wish the chrome version looks just like it does in the picture on the BBTS page, then it would have been a no brainer. The pictures of DA in the link in threads above are just too shiny for me, but then like some of you pointed out it's under show lights and may not be as shiny as it seems.
Funny thing though, my cheapest option is to wait for the chrome version from BBTS pre-order ($175+Shipping). Normal version would be a little more $, with metallic version being my most expensive option!

Well, the original color Danguard Ace ALREADY hit the clearance bin in Hobby Search, that's how I found it (sorry, but I think I purchased the last one).
However, other than getting it from the Ebay Pirates, as many here call them, the original version is the hardest one to find. The most common is the chrome, followed by the metallic. There should be no problem getting one of those... of course once they are both released.

My real question would be, which version do you guys think will retain the most value down the line? The metallic version is supposed to be a "limited-edition" release according to HLJ so lower supply might mean higher value... but I'm not really sure how much more limited it is compared to the other two versions.

The chrome version is supposed to come out in April. Has anyone heard what the exact release date is?
I'm going to need to see more pictures before I decide to keep my pre-order.

Whichever version looks most like the show, anime accurate. that will be the one people want 5+ years from now. The "limited edition" or "variant" versions are very rarely much more expensive after the initial "gotta have it" fever ends. I am always skeptical of "limited editions" where the edition ## is not named, who knows how many they're going to make? Many times they aren't limited at all.
