Nice!!! So which version would you say looks best amongst SOC's? I don't want a piece that will stick out like a sore thumb but there's something about that plated version that I can't resist.

Thanks for cool video review! I just got my regular color Danguard A last week and I am pleased with both the size and weight of this toy. I also preordered the metallic chrome version as well because I do like the shiny look of the toy.

Shiny!
That DA will sit well with the GX-06M set.
It does have a lot of character though. the chrome might be a bit of a distraction sometimes, but it certain can get someone to look at it a second time... BLING!

Can someone post a comparison photo of the regular release next to the metallic (not chrome) release? I am trying to figure out which I would rather purchase.
Thanks.

I found the comparison pics from earlier in the thread. I thought Angolz still had the regular version? I didn't see it listed as sold out. I opted for the metallic version anyway. I think the plated version is too chromed out for my tastes.

I finally got the Plated version from Angolz yesterday. And I have post it beside the Metallic version and the DX version. I bought the Plated version in case if I cannot get the metallic version (luckily one of the local dealer was able to get it).

Damn now I'm leaning towards the metallic version, how does the chrome version look in Satalizer mode?

Hi all, here's a short review of Yamato's G-NU Hagane Danguard Ace ~ Plated Version. Please click on the thumbnails to view larger images. Box Manual is printed on slightly whiter paper than the regular version. But the contents are the same. Optional sticker sheet and "how to download the Jasdam Hangar" in English text. Accessory tray. Danguard Ace The Plated Danguard is supposedly limited to 500 units only. Pulsar Cannon! Satellizer mode Comparison with the normal version of Danguard. The "Pulsar Cannon" chest area is painted differently on the Plated version. With Gx06M Getter Robo. I had originally planned on posing it next to the shiny Mazinger Angels as well, but after realizing I had to break out at least 8 SOCs from storage to do just one or two pics, I just dropped the idea. With SOC Reideen. Now for all you folks out there wondering what Danguard would look like if Yamato had released this baby straight up with a mix of normal and chromed parts. The plated helmet actually adds a lot difference to the overall appearance of Danguard Ace. Helmet comparison. With the normal helmet. Now, with the plated helmet. A few quick negatives about the toy though. As expected there is bound to be some chipping, this one was right out of the box. No real biggie as it's hidden inside the skirt plate and I had to look for scratches to really notice it. But still, it's a quality control problem nontheless. The "backpack" on my unit for the Satellizer mode has problems. It couldn't fit in (plastic bar too thick?), it seems to be hit or miss though as other folks who got theirs don't seem to have this problem. If you do encounter this, don't try to force the backpack in, as you might not be able to pull it out. Strange though this wasn't a problem on my regular Danguard. The "backpack" for the Danguard in Robot mode has no problems on both versions. In the photos above, the Satellizer's backpack is only attached half-way in, I dare not force the connection in any deeper than that for fear of damaging the toy. The "Satellizer backpack" is colored slightly lighter grey than the regular Danguard's. Another minor complaint I guess would have to be the box, couldn't Yamato have given us a new box instead of just recycling the regular Danguard Ace's box? The foil sticker that's stamped in front marking the "Plated Version" also suffers from minor problems like visible multiple trapped air bubbles underneath. The UglyThe most annoying problem would still have to be the Cosmo Arrows on Danguard's legs falling off too easily just like it does on the normal version. My final conclusion, by far, it's the best Danguard Ace version from Yamato yet! The chrome and plated shade of blue on the arms and legs really add a lot of presence to the toy over the regular version (which I found somewhat boring to look at from the very first time I assembled it). I recommend getting this version if you haven't gotten a G-NU Hagane Danguard Ace yet. The only real problem is the limited availability of this figure. But if you find one reasonably priced then go for it. Gold

Thanks Gold... I can just imagine...what if the SOC Voltes V was chrome plated like this?

Thanks John, though I'd love to have a plated Voltes, I'd be much happier if Bandai rolled out a black Voltes first. Gold

Great review, and nice pics. I was not really a fan of the normal release, but this is striking! The plating makes a huge difference.

Well I just bought a regular version from Angolz, the price was just too good to pass up. First thing I'm doing when I get it is painting the neck and head silver and getting rid of that robot beard it's got.

Great review as always, Gold! The "plating version" was too chromed out for my tastes so I opted for the metallic version which I hope to have shipped to me soon. It has been a long wait since I originally pre-ordered the regular version last year, but never actually received it. I think this is one of the best Dangard Ace figures yet. I have never really seen any good pics of the FLOSR version, but people say that is well done too. I'd still be curious to see what Bandai would do with it if they made an SOC version.
