This is off topic, but does anyone know where I can buy/download English subbed/dubbed version of Danguard Ace? I remember watching English dubbed episodes as a kid in the PI, but I can't seem to find them anywhere.

If you are still interested after hearing that fact, shoot me a PM.

I remember watching English dubbed episodes as a kid in the PI, but I can't seem to find them anywhere. If you're in the Philippines, there's one shop that has it, albeit incomplete (just like the US dubbed version, it was never fully aired). PM me if you're interested. But I have to say though, it is insanely boring. I loved the show as a kid, but good grief, after rewatching it again recently, it was a really slooooow and ungratifying show. I could sit through hours and hours of other vintage Super Robot Anime like Reideen, Mekanda, Daitarn (to name a few that I've found mildly worth watching), even in their raw unsubbed format, so I'd like to think I have a high tolerance for slow paced, old school robot Anime. But with Danguard Ace, the action took forever to get to and the battles were uninspiring when we got it (there were a few good ones though). Made me appreciate how very well written Voltes V was compared to Danguard. Gold

FINALLY Angolz shipped it and sent me a tracking number.
As for the Anime, yeah it is pretty slow I think Danguard doesn't even change into robot mode till episode 5 or 6. The show is mostly about the characters with Danguard as secondary, it's very much like Gunbuster in which it influenced. It does pick up a bit in the last 20 or so episodes but it can be a chore. I have all 56 episodes in the original Japanese with no subs and can watch it all the way through. But for most I would say get the subbed Force Five versions which was condensed to 26 episodes plus a 1 hour movie.

I have that VHS boxset as well. I have seem those WAI productions versions before, they are expensive and I just can't bring myself to pay someone other than the original authors for the content. I think the first post on CDX sums up my thoughts exactly.
What ever happened to Jim Terry Productions?

I'm guessing Jim Terry productions is gone since I can't find any info on his production company or he has lost the rights to these shows or just doesn't care. Jim Terry only had the rights to 26 episodes per show so he usually picked the ones with the most action. Here's another site selling DVD's. www.maxtoons.com/Prices.htm

Hearing that sorta kills my motivation to try to rewatch the show. I guess the reason I don't remember much from the show anymore is probably because it was pretty boring, haha. Since the show was never completed anyway, I will probably just skip it. Thanks for your input.

Do the shortened Force Five and WAI versions of Grendizer/Getter/Gaiking/Danguard end abruptly in the middle of the series or do they cut out the episodes from the middle of the series?

Not really cut into the end exactly, Gaiking and Getter aired the last 3-4 episodes, which followed a continous arc nearing the endings. Grendizer and Danguard just ended abruptly. No idea about Spaceketeers. ;D Gold

I just got to opening up my metallic Dangard Ace today. It is incredible!!! I waited a long time and it didn't disappoint. I really appreciate all the feedback from the users on this thread. This is the first Yamato robot I've bought and it was not a bad decision at all.

I got it from Betatoys as a replacement for the normal version I pre-ordered. I believe the going price was $164 back when I pre-ordered it. Andy really came through for me and I think I might actually like the metallic version over the regular one now. Hope that helps.
