In the UK, this stuff is almost universally known as "Blue-Tac", after the name of the brand-leader. I feels its good for temporary posing, but like others, I'd be dubious about using it long-term. Also, it has a habit of getting stuck into moulded features (such as foot detail) and can be a pain to remove.

ok I'll speak up, I've been using this stuff for over 8 years and have had no staining/ or whatever side effects. I'm currently using this to hold up some of my 1/48 Valk's loose panel covers right above the cockpit as well as for the missle pegs of the missle holder on the Valk's wing I'm also using it to keep my EVA purple GX-14's mouth shut as it is loose and has a tendency to fall wide open. I use it to keep the EVA's small antenna in place. I also use this on my F-91 Dx for the bot to hold up its gun. I'm also using it on my MF mazinkaiser's sword to hold the blade in place I have it on my Godaikin Voltron's, Dancouga's feet to decrease paint wear I use this on my GX-03 combattler where the leg machine connects to the body to prevent paint wear on the leg [4th] machine this stuff is just all over my collection, I plan to use it on my 1/400 white base to hold the 1/400 RX-78 on top of the base without the ugly black stand. I also use it on both my aoshima Shin getter 1 & Mazinkaiser to hold the fist in the lower arm peg as either the peg is too small or the hole is too wide Worst that will happen is that the puddy will harden over time, and loose its adhesiveness. Removing it?, simply get a chunk of puddy and press it against the area you want "puddy free" that's it. its really not a big deal...very useful actually. Which reminds me I should stop by Canadian Tire and get some as I'm all out. I think other's mistake this for modelling puddy which it really isn't ...far from it When in doubt use puddy

The stuff that xiombarg is talking about sure does look like "Blue-Tac" . We have the same product here in Australia and I've been using it for years on plastics without a problem .... it will leave oil marks on anything thats porous though , so don't let them fool you. It probably effects vinyl type figures like GI Joes and Star Wars figures because vinyl will easily leech from other sources and there will be a migration between the two products if left in contact with each other for longer periods of time. I mainly use "Blue -Tac" to temp fix styrene model kit parts together while I'm trying to get an idea of how the parts will fit together and it doesn't cause any problems, even after being left in contact with the parts for many months. Styrene plastics are VERY stable ![:)](http://lemonstre.fr/robot-japan/smileys/smiley.png) and don't have the same leeching power that vinyl has Must say I haven't tried it on any painted diecast though ![::)](http://lemonstre.fr/robot-japan/smileys/rolleye.png)
