Bueno lancerx, it is basically a pre-painted/pre-assembled vinyl model... but it is big enough to go well with the Revoltech Gaiking (I post some pictures with it when it arrives). I know you like diecast better, but this thing would be super expensive if it was diecast. At $150 shipped EMS to my door it was a good deal.

I think it would go better with the SOC GX-27 because the Revoltech Gaiking is only like 4 inches tall and would look way to small next to that Daiku.

Actually, I' have the GX-27 and the GE-10, and they are way too big for it. The Revoltech Gaiking is about the same size (or a little bigger) as the Revoltech Mazinkasier (pictured with the Daiku-Maryu) and will be a perfect match. I have one coming in from HLJ and as soon as I receive it, I'll post more pictures. }D

Oye The_Mazinger_Z, te felicito! Ese Daiku-Maryu se ve muy Chevere! Congratulations on your Daiku, bro! It looks really Awesome! I think the Revoltech Gaiking would indeed look right for that Daiku. I've never watched the original series much... ...in their respective anime series: Mazinger's base is beneath a waterpool; Grendizer's base is a UFO; and Voltes' base is the Big Falcon... ...so, is the Daiku-Maryu a "base" for the Gaiking robot? Nice Toy there! zozo-Magengar

Wow! Congrats TheMazingerz! Just a quick question, how sturdy are the legs? I remember the old prototype pics showing the toy needed some support due to the bulk of the torso. Also, is the tail section removable? The box seems shorter than the whole Dragon. Thanks Gold

Well, unfortunately the legs are vinyl as well (including the joints), so they do give under the weight of the torso. I've found the Daiku Maryu already "listing" to the left due to the leg joint not being able to hold it for a prolonged period of time.
The tail comes in three sections, which connect via "peg" to each other and the torso. These pegs have sort of a "ball joint" on one end to give the tail some articulation. However, if you want the figure to look good, you must push the pegs all the way in, rendering the "articulation" to nothing.
My biggest problem with the figure was the factory packaging. The Daiku Maryu parts came completely loose inside a cardboard box (insert). As a result, some of them got scuffed while in transit. It was pathetic at best.
Overall, it is a very nice piece. Again, you must keep in mind that it is what it is: a very large pre-painted vinyl model of the Daiku Maryu.

I want this and I don't want this at the same time. It looks like all they did was enlarge the SOC GX-05 Daiku Maryu (right down to Skylar, Bazoora, and Nesser from the SOC version) but left out a lot of the detail, also the fact that GX-27's chest/head is around the same size as this Daiku's head makes me believe that they went with the size difference of Gaiking and Daiku from GX-05 and just blew it up to keep roughly the same size difference between GX-27 and this figure hoping to attract more sales, which may be toy correct but not really Anime correct.
Ah screw it, I'll probably get one anyways.

The skull on Daiku looks different than the Revo' Gaiking; but overall, your Revo' Gaiking fits in PERFECTLY with your Daiku Maryu there! Those Daiku Maryu's happened along in great timing, coinciding with the release of the Revoltech Gaiking. zozo-Magengar
