Thank you corellianvette for showing us your restoration project. I enjoyed reading about it.

Looks like everyone wants to know who you got to re-cast the parts. Please let us know here. Looks like there will be a lot of new business going his way. Myself, I would need a lot of accessory and parts for my old ST sized figures.

Albert is not always around here anymore as he is very busy. I would not expect a reply or for him to reveal his source. It may have been someone willing to just do the work for him.
As an aside to what I explained in the other thread randz posted, just buying Daimos (ST or DX) parts is expensive and condition varies wildly. It is just easier to buy a nice condition example in complete shape because it will take so long to get parts. It took me two years to get a set of mint original DX fists.
3D printing is not at the production quality level that a Popy toy demands (yet). So that's out.
Also, the cost to have repros made or cast would be expensive and quantity prohibitive. Are you going to pay to have 20, 50, or 100 sets/pieces of something made? No. It's not worth the cash layout.
There are lots of people in Italy selling repro parts for Daimos and some clover toys as well but I can't speak to the quality. I can tell you however, that they are nearly just as expensive as originals in most cases, before paying international shipping.

Cool to see this thread brought back up. Very nice chrome paint redo.
Albert (corellianvette) did a lot of parts recast through a maker in Asia, (Thailand?) that a few of us bought various stuff in a bunch order. That was several years ago.
For today, why not contact still current boardie in Florida USA, Tony, of tampabayhobbies ? He does amazing work if you have a part, even a damaged part, to start with.

Amazing job on that Daimos, and I really like that chrome paint too. Gokin and Godaikin repro parts are hard to come by these days, but they do exist. I see some every now-n-then on ebay, but they can be expensive unless you find that one good deal with perfect timing. Other times I often see original parts being sold on ebay, and those can be pricey as well. Ya just gotta keep searching and program a few Search Rovers at ebay so the search results will get emailed back to you. Good luck y'all! zozo-mag
