Well, maybe the title is a bit exaggerated, but this is what happened... Last night, I had my MOC Gobots near a window. Unfortunately, my cat decided that the windows was a nice way of entering my room, and when he came in, all my figures fell... The only one damaged was Turbo (he was MOC and in case fresh condition), the bubble ended up all dinged and the figure was half way transformed! So, after seeing the bubble was like that and that the figure was almost transformed, I opened that 1983 package... Anyway, I just want to say that it's a very cool figure...

You finally opened it, I say it was a blessing ;D Though I still say, pets and toys don't mix, it has been that way

Well, you know, it's not THAT important. But I think that if a vintage toy has stayed MOC for so long, it's better to leave it alone, after all, loose ones at ebay aren't very expensive... I didn't feel SO bad, but it was a pitty. I remember before leaving the figures there I thought "maybe I should put them away... naaah, I'll come back in a couple of minutes". How many people here are MOC collectors?

There is a great Powerpuff Girls episode entitled "Collect Her". It should be mandatory viewing for all 'MOC' collectors. Lenny Baxter syndrome: a tragic neurosis spoiling the fun of toy collectors everywhere. JWM

Well, I'm not really a MOC collector, I open everything, but if I find a MOC Top Toys He-Man on a mint card, I'm not opening it.

Ahh one of the major dilemmas of toy collectors. Do you keep it MIB/MISB, or do you take it out and play with the darn thing? What is the point of getting all these things anyway when you will eventually die one way or another? How many things will you actually collect and where will you store all the stuff? Do you store it in the dark and hermetically sealed or do you display it at the risk of yellowing and dust accumulation? I suppose some people buy one copy to keep in mint shape and another to actually play with. Do we all have a serious obsessive trait? You'll have to forgive my waxing philosophical.

Of course, we all have a serious, or at least moderate, obsessive streak. It's part of the fun. But leaving a toy unopened is just silly. Toys are for playing with. The idea of buying two toys so you can save one unopened is a little extravagant with SOC issues selling for nearly a hundred bucks a pop. On the other hand, creating a stash of MISB antiques can be profitable if you have the patience to wait twenty-five years or so. It's like planting a tree in when you're in your twenties, so you can enjoy the shade when you retire. JWM

You SIR are a lil bit excessive with your gobots. Yes, you can open them, but if you truelly want to be a collector your are not supposed to. But cmon, if you think tragedy is a bubble of your card gettting messed up, then you must live a sheltered life.

Well, in case I haven't made myself clear, the title was supposed to be FUNNY... I'm not really sad over this, all the other toys I have (they're from these days, like new MOTU figures) are loose. Collecting MOC is sick in my opinion, but I didn't feel the need to open these vintage Gobots... So, since I had decided not to open them, the fact that I was "forced" to open this one wasn't great, but it's not important, you know, it's just a TOY...

I confess. Somewhere deep in the vaults of my Collection in Storage boxes, there is a MOC TalgeeseIII. And a UOB (un-opened bag) of Cheetos from 1987. One day it'll be worth a fortune. JWM

Cheetos ;D MIB.....UEG...(uneatengrease).
My experience with bubbles is that they disintegrate with age. They yellow, glue dries up, and they crack in transport. NOT TO MENTION....... that you could make a repro if that made extra money.
Forgetting about that. Sorry about that. I hear cats make excellent slippers and ear muffs.
