You may or may not already be familiar with the unused Rodimus firetruck sketch in the Transformers Generations book: www.allspark.com/forums/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=7973Well, until now I don't think anyone actually bothered to translate the text. Everyone just assumed it was "Powermaster Rodimus" because it appeared near a similar sketch of Ginrai. But here's what it really says: "New Rodimus (temporary name). We considered selling it as the item to come after Star Convoy. To transform into a fire engine, the body would seperate into top and bottom halves." That's a very unique transformation. Perhaps not-so-coincidentally, Duke Fire transforms the same way. And if you consider the relatively short span of time between this design and Duke Fire's design (3 years), and the obvious similarities in proportions and vehicle mode, I think it's safe to say that Takara reused the basic transformation scheme for Duke Fire. Neat, eh? I was under the impression that only the earliest Brave engineering was left over from Transformers, but I guess there are more

The transformation is completely different from RID Prime. The text says that the *robot body* splits in half, not the fire engine. That the fire engine splits in half isn't relavent.
