How small is small? Can I have an estimate of how tall this guy is? It is 8.25 inches to the top of the highest "Flame tip", and 9 inches to the top of the highest "Wing tip". It is well made, and very heavy, but too short to look good with it's kin... }D

Wt BULL---?!! I thought it was like 13 in. tall?!! The 13 inches tall one is the old DX (non-gokin) one from CMs Corp. BTW there is one way to kinda "cheat" the scale. Display the Maxfactory GGGG with the lower legs shafted out. It will make it seem taller and a bit more in scale with the Kotobukiya figures. Gold

Yeap, that's the GaoFighGar you sent me! ;D And it does suck that the GGGG is so small, regarless of which company made it. Look at the Aoshima's and Bandai 's SOC Getters for example... they are in perfect harmony! Why couldn't the buttholes from Max Factory do the same thing!!! Sorry, I am really pissed... }D Probably because Max Factory released their version first. Max's GGGG was released approximately 04.17.2004. The first Gaogaigar figure CM released was their big GGGG DX junker approximately 03.15.2005, and their first Brave series Gaogaigar was at least a year after that. If anyone is the butthole for not keeping things in scale it was CM. It's a bummer about the let down though. If you are serious about wanting to sell it, let me know and I'll make you an offer.

None of the CM's Gaos are junkers. They may not be ALL diecast, but they do contain it - and they transform!!! ALSO, they are in perfect scale with each other.
By the way, I was not refering to scale with the CM's figures, but with the Kotobukiya Hybrid Gokin figures - the best renditions of the GGGs out there. Unfortunately, they do contain large amounts of resin parts along with their large and heavy diecast parts - which was not a very good idea...
I'll keep the Max Factory GGGG and use it as the CLOWN for the rest of the GGGs... Now, where can I find a little tiny Clown hat???

Wt BULL---?!! I thought it was like 13 in. tall?!! Aww man... incedently, theMazingerz, is that the GFG I traded with you? Also, nice Turn A Gundam... }D Sure the Getter 2's and Lyger are close in scale, but Shin Getter 1 is SHORTER than the SOC Getter Dragon and Aoshima's own Shin Getter 2 so their own scale is out of whack not to mention Mazinkaiser which is way taller than either Getter. Anyway sad to hear you don't like your MaxFactory GGGG, I personally think it's one of the best diecast figures made.

ALSO, they are in perfect scale with each other. }D Hmm, well, saying it was a "junker" is maybe a little harsh, but not much. If you haven't seen the CM GGGG DX you might not know about it's infamous problems. It was a poorly made figure. It didn't really hold together very well, there were connection pieces that broke when looked at, and the transformation process was poorly implemented. All around it was bad engineering. And where it barely had any diecast, it was a ripoff that cost $500-$600. Also, it wasn't in scale with the other CM Brave figures.

Well, I do not have the $500 CM's GGGG DX - HOWEVER, I do have the CM's GGGG, GGG, GFG, and the new GaoGaiGo - AND all these I mentioned ARE in scale. But no matter, my new Max Factory "Tiny Little Clown" GGGG is making them very happy!

Has anyone heard any reports on the Final Ver. in comparison to the original release? If it's just 3 new fists then that's awesome for folks who don't have one already, but not enough to have me wanting a second. But if say...the hip joints are lovely-smooth-awesome or something like that, I'd be very tempted.

I haven't gotten mine yet (still waiting for Greattoys to get their stocks in) but I'll post a comparison as soon as I get it. But I do hope the joints are better. Gold

If you tell me what the problem was with the initial release, I can tell you if my new one has it or not. I never got the first one that came out...

But if say...the hip joints are lovely-smooth-awesome or something like that, I'd be very tempted. Toysdaily had the MAX GGGG discussion thread translated to english and everyone over there was saying that nothing is different except for the fists. A couple of owners reported that the left leg and some knee joints were still very stiff, which was the same problem with the first one. As far as I can tell from the diagram, I don't think there is any added articulation points either. But we should probably wait for Gold to give a more extensive review.

Oh man... I got myself in a bit of a pickle here guys, I was browsing some Yahoo Japan auctions (yeah, unfortunatley my car parts killed my cash for the MF GGG from HLJ so looking at a cheaper alternitive) and I came across a GGGG at a very nice price, however I also found another item I've been looking for- the Kahen Senshi Z Gundam Green Divers Limited Edition. I only have enough for one, and I know the GGGG is probably the better quality figure, but the Z Gundam is so hard to find.... what would you guys do?

HOLY CRAP!!!! Now I can get both!! Thanks alot man! I looked through 85 pages of Yahoo Japan auctions and only found 3 of these up for grabs and 2 of them were over $100!! Thanks for the huge hook up! Well I am one satisfied Gokin collector tonight, and for right now I think my collection is well rounded, now I can start saving up for the Big O! (Though I'm still a little bummed the MF GGG isn't going to be the towering center piece I imagined.)

If you tell me what the problem was with the initial release, I can tell you if my new one has it or not. I never got the first one that came out... }D The main problems with the first release were -the insanely tough groin joints (very hard to move up, down, sideways). -tough feet claw joints. -some of the knee joints. -one of the tail sections easily broke (not sure about the last one, it was a rumor, they supposedly went back and fixed this before rolling out the toy). I can attest to that tight hip problem, I put so much force into it I snapped the leg off.

Oddly enough, I didn't seem to have any of these problems with my GGGG. Well..actually now that I think of it, one of the upper leg joints was fairly tight, but I just worked it back and forth without too much pressure for about five mintues and it loosened right up.
I have to admit though, I've always had good luck with my robots.

I have no personal attachments to the figure but it is surely one heck of a nice gokin. Now regarding the rumored "recall", here is HLJ's response when I asked them. Hi
Thanks for writing. I'm very sorry for the delay in replying to your email - we have been flooded with emails since before the holidays.
We haven't received any notice of a recall, and there's nothing about it on Max Factory's site, so I think it's probably fine.
Happy New Year, and thanks for shopping with HobbyLink Japan!

Thanks Themazingerz. Hopefully this is true for all of the "Final versions" of the MF GGGG. Coz it would reeeeally suck if one were to wind up with the same problems again after waiting so long for the final version.
Thanks for the headsup Zman. That is rather odd, HLJ didn't get any info regarding the supposed recall yet it's up over at Maxfactory's site.
