Hi, I'm *new* in this forum, and also *new* in start collecting Gundam action figures. I'd like to know the differences between the lines of products as titled and how do you all like them? Which line would you recommend for displaying and posing? Thanks a lot!!

HCM Pro: i have none of these so i can't tell much.
MSIA:these are great for collection, playing, action posing and displaying.
EMSIA:i have none of these so i can't tell much.
FIX:i have 3 Gff's and they are good for display and action posing if you have a Zeonography figure with one.
i recommend the FIX for displaying because you'll spend between 30 and 80 dollars on a single figure but they have more detail than the MSIA,is taller than a MSIA,and have ulternate armors to create a different ms.

Thanks for the info., Mudrock! However, I've heard that there are 2nd versions on the MSIA series... how do the 1st & 2nd versions compare? Also, do you know how many of them have 2nd versions released? BTW, I'm from HK and I've been able to see some of the FIX series out in the store... however, despite the many accessories that come with the box, the painting quality isn't great, and some perhaps even worse than the MSIA equivalent... anyway, this's just my opin. Thanks again!!

2nd version MSiA's feature improved articulation for better poses. For Extended MSiA, see the thread on this series. There have been lots of replies on this thread. EMSiA is supposed to be like a cross between 2nd version MSiA with greatly improved articulation and GFF with larger size and weathering paint job.

The right arm on my white gundam mkII keeps falling off. A real piece of crap compared to the Gouf. I can recommend the titans mkII to real gundam mkII fans though, if only because it's the only finished product I've seen that is actually painted the way it looks in the show; dark blue, not purple. HCMPros benefit a lot from flat spray. Without it they basically look just like small, hastily built model kits (hyakushiki may be the exception). As for normal msias, the dom 2nd version is God. I bought 3 of them and 1 rick dom, and I find myself understanding the people that bought 12 rick doms.

That's what I'd like to hear... opinion from you guys!! So, how many 2nd versions MSIA are available out there? I only know that RX-78-2, Zaku II (mass production / Char), the DOM you just mentioned... any others? And, are they all in 1/144 scale? P.S. BTW, what's the difference between the 2nd version DOM and the Rick DOM you mentioned? Thanks!! ;D

2nd versions are newer versions of mses that had already been released as msia early on. Recently released msias that are the first release for that ms have the same kind of quality as 2nd versions released around the same time, although with some degree of variation, naturally. I have the 2nd version gundam, z gundam and zaku also, and I can tell you none of them compare to the dom, but they're ok. The Gundam and Zaku have nice articulation except for the inability to open up the legs, making katoki-style standing poses (the way most people would want to pose something standing nowadays) impossible. The Z gundam has very nice proportions and pretty good articulation, but is quite floppy thx to the transformation. I know there's an EMIA coming out for it soon that has the potential to be much better.
The dom 2nd version and rick dom are the same thing basically, but there are some significant changes. The dom has smaller boosters on the back and a hover system in the feet and under the leg skirts instead of boosters there with the rick dom. The rick-dom is a more bluish shade of purple, and is panel-lined with a light blue ink (which is actually kinda hard to see, and strange looking when you *can* see it). The dom comes with "ortega hammer" interlocked hands and a left hand with the fingers splayed open, the rick-dom lacks these. The dom has a raketen bazooka and a sturmfaust, the rick-dom has a beam bazooka- both have lit and unlit heat swords and giant bazookas. Lastly, a great many of the rick doms were put together with either 2 left or 2 right shoulder armors, meaning you get a scar on the front no matter what you do. If however you get scars on the front of both there is no problem, as you can just swap them. I would definitely recommend the normal dom- I like the panel lines better on it, but mainly for that extra left hand which is really great, and given to you precisely so you can reproduce the lead dom in the jet stream attack.

You're welcome. I could take pics, but I don't have anywhere to host them. Here are some pics I found online in their place. mmc.cool.ne.jp/130.htmmmc.cool.ne.jp/147.htm anglers326bb.hp.infoseek.co.jp/myweb7_032.htm Incidentally, MSIA are smaller than 1/144; they're actually non-scale, but the doms are some of the biggest MSIA. The EMIA Gouf is almost FIX-sized. Then again, FIXes aren't really 1/144 either, even though they say they are on the box.
