Thank you all for the helpful advise. I really appreciate it. I've decided to file a claim against the seller since the smell is so unbearable. I felt it was better to not pay for something I wasn't happy with, especially when it was $120 USD.
I will have to try these techniques another time, but I sincerely do appreciate all your kind help.
This community rocks!!

Thanks for all the tips guys!
nolsoldier: for the "sealing in bag with fabric softner sheets" method. Do I put the sealed bag in the freezer for a few days?
Baron: when wiping with Pledge, only the outer, exposed areas would be sufficient correct? I wouldn't want to have to take apart my gokin (Zambot 3) to perform this.
treatment: thanks for the ingredients. I will google that.

Is that a homemade concoction? Do you spray on a paper towl or something and wipe it down?

Hi guys,
How can I remove odor (cigarette smell) off a Chogokin figure? Bought it off Ebay. Any advise would be great!
Thanks in advance.

Gold, thanks so much for taking the time to check yours. I really appreciate that. Although I am more at rest knowing its the quality of plastic, I wished Bandai used higher quality material, especially for a limited run item. I think only 500 made? But due to everyone's positive comments, I am more comfortable with this "weathered" look

Oh man, you guys a the best. Thanks for all the positive reinforcement. I am beginning to get comfortable with the discoloration somewhat, thanks to all the optimistic ways of looking at it.
I just received my SOC Daitarn 3 renewal version in the mail today....but that's a whole other thread.

You guys are truly awesome! I would've never imagined to receive all these bits of info on my own. This is why I love forums!
I never even thought about the plastic bags causing the reaction. I'm hoping since this was released back in 2004, Bandai has improved on the quality of the plastic they use in their SOC's. I do own a Baikanfu as well, and those white plastic parts still remain pure white. But I would hate to find discoloration on the Baikanfu, as there are many white parts.
Mr. Ginrai, you do have a point. Even if I do find one flawless, it might deteriorate over time. Didn't put that into consideration.
And a nice "weathered" look huh.... I guess I can see that now. Good optimism!

Hi guys. Apologies for not mentioning the wings. I forgot they were discolored too. In person, it doesn't look this bad. This photo really accentuates the yellowing worse than it really is. But it is still very mnoticeable.
I doubt there are pieces out there that are not yellowed. I've been googling and found every other collector who owns this piece to have the same issue. BTW, Charles. It's nice to meet you here as I love your video reviews!
But I'd love to get my hands on a perfect one as I am OCD. I also love this SOC as Dancouga's design is unlike any other SOC.

Hi guys
Its my first time posting here, but I've been a long time collector of Japanese robots. I recently acquired a dancouga GX13 R, which was never taken out of the box, and never saw daylight. I noticed something bizarre. Some of the gray plastic parts of bigmoth (chest, both arms, and middle of thighs were discolored. But it was never exposed to sunlight, nor ever taken out of the box.
Has anyone else experienced this? I've been collecting for a very long time, and this is the very first time I'm noticing this kind of phenomenon.
What's strange is, the exterior surrounding gray plastic of the thighs are normal. Only the middle portion that springs in and out are discolored.
Anyone have any logical explanation to this?
Thanks in advance,
Ted
