WOWZERS! Need more info ;D I see the vintage and the GX-31 in the photo.
It's not a re-issue since there was no GX-31V before.

Might want to hold your horses. From the pics and limited info, it looks more like an updated GX-31 to add new gimmick (the old DX tank mode that got omitted) & new color, aka. GX-31V. So rather than a DX gokin reissue, its more a new updateed version of the SOC Voltes V.

I need more info on this one!
so I would guess it is the same mold as the SOC voltes V--but repainted to look like the 70's version---
It is shown in Tank mode---
doesn't the SOC V5-- do the Tank mode thing? I thought it could---
sorry I can't get my SOC v5-- the 2 are still locked in the glass case :-(

Here is a picture borrowed from Collection Dx of the Voltes Godaikin Tank mode: Compare it to GX-31 in Tank Mode. Note that I placed a styrofoam spacer under the tank treads. Without it, the figure would slump forward. Also, the elbows are straight instead of folded as compared to the Godaikin Tank version. (The GX-31 elbows only bends to 90 degrees.) Therefore, at least two modifications would be needed. 1. Lengthen the rods that hold the tank treads so they reach the floor. This could be a telescoping rod so you can lenghten it in tank mode & shorten it in robot mode so it does not stick out too much. 2. The elbows will need to be double jointed to enable the elbows to bend 180 degrees. 3. Stickers would be a plus. ;D 4. Firing missiles & fists would be wicked!!! ;D ;D ;D

I wonder if it will LACK anything that the original GX-31 featured. I just recently got the GX-31. I don't want to wish that I'd waited for a better version.

This is the Respect for Volt-In-Box version that was shown at the recent Tamashii nations expos. i37.tinypic.com/2a5lkq8.jpgIt features a few enhancements to allow for vintage gattai and a full repaint job mimicking the vintage style, with stickers and extra text on the gokin's body. And, mind you, at the same expos There were even Battle Fever with Battle Shark ( WOWza!!! ;P) and Combattler with Launch Base exposed... How'd ya like those? www.tamashii.jp/special/taipei_cf_2008/exhibition.html

From what I can read from the pic, I think the new stuff are: 1) A tank mode (Voltes Juusensha). 2) New colors, similar to the original toy. 3) Both the Frigate and Lander will have new antenna units. 4) The Panzer will have a new caterpillar frame. 5) New Voltes Bazooka and Chain Knuckle.

Hmm looks like their just changing the paint and adding some extra parts so you can configure Voltes in to tank mode which actually never showed up in the show plus a new Voltes bazooka.

So is it a Godaikin reissue with modifications, or the SOC version with modifications? I am hoping that it is the Godaikin version, since I always wanted that toy but could never afford it. I would still prefer the original to a reissue. I wonder if this means we can expect other Godaikin reissues?

Less elegant and less anime accurate but more like the Popy/Godaikin of old. Hmm. I actually don't mind the decals, but I'm not forking out more $$ for a variant.
