I know there are some vinyl stickers kits out there (and may buy a set later anyway), but does anyone have any scans of the original stickers.
After seeing the Raydeen ones from the above site, they were drawn close, but still slightly different than my own 2nd version Raydeen, I decided to measure and draw up the torso decals in auto-cad from the stickers of my Raydeen which are in poor shape. But, mine doesn't have the center decal around the missile launch bay at all.
If need be, will just look at other Raydeen photos and wing it in. Or is subscience.org pretty close to how the original was done?
I have an old Gaiking, and will see about drawing up a set for him since the subscience.org link was broken for those stickers. Though my Raydeen torso stickers were falling off and could easy hold them up to the computer and line draw around them :-)

BUMP. Members here are often seeking stickers from time to time. Other members also make their own, as well. Doing my small humble part to keep this thread alive. So, perhaps a sticky for an official "Jumbo Stickers" thread may need to be in order; that way folks won't have to search everywhere in RJ for Sticker threads; and just move all the old Sticker threads into this one area for easy access. zozo-Magengar

Okay, hope no one gets sick of me posting ;-) But, have been scouring around for what is out there from past stickers. groups.yahoo.com/group/MachinderShop/ Seemed to had its heyday back in the early 2000s. I joined it to see the "files" over there. Found a nice reproduction folder under the Files link, with several printouts including GaiKing groups.yahoo.com/group/MachinderShop/files/Shogun%20Sticker%20sheets/Reproduction/There is a folder in the reproduction file called reproduction labels, they are the same stickers but just in an .eps format which I had to install a viewer to check out. Not worth the time to do. Use the .jpg or .gif format ones. I am sure there is a wealth of good information over there as well, but never cared for the Yahoo e-mail system and can't believe it is still used yet today with better forum layouts to keep topics flowing together so much better.

Attached in next post below is a word document (rough draft) for the 2nd version Raydeen stickers. I need to print them out myself on regular paper and dry, test fit the pieces yet. Was hoping to .pdf out the drawings today, but didn't convert properly from the word file that I dumped the drawings into.
Take a look and see if it looks good or need some tweaks before I get a final version set in stone.
I plan on starting with the torso launch bay sticker first (top area applied first and rolling to sides and downward with it), then the back stickers (both top and bottom), and finally the front lower sticker.
Will also see about converting the drawings into a .jpg format

Hey I never thought to look in the Yahoo Groups... I'll head over there and see what there is to see.
It kinda stinks to have come a long long after this stuff was popular... but hey maybe we'll be part of a spiked resurgence... (if the popularity of Kitsir's work & the prices on e-bay are any indicator).
Nice work on the pattern. I converted these to a PDf if you are still having trouble...let me know. (it matches your Docx version). I work on a MAC and it has built in PDF convesion... lovely that let me tell you.
How interesting...I have a 2nd(maybe 3rd) edition Raydeen with no epulets and only 19 red squares in the torso. And if memory serves they look nothing like this version. My original came off in 1 or 2 chunks and I replaced with repro from Voguesworld. But I'll take a look tonight and see exactly what the shapes were. I'll post them as well.
Thanks again, Will

Shoot me the file bourno (at) teambac.com
The 3rd version did have a different sticker set.
The ebay prices have been very strong, I would have guessed after Christmas that interest would have lowered Maybe tax money ;-)

Having looked at my Raydeen torso stickers, they are indeed exactly like those posted. Except there are 19 instead of 20. I don't know why I thought they were different. Sorry about that.

ps. Checked out both those Yahoo groups. A lot of decals there. I see where Vogues came from. Love those custom Garada K7 & Goliath.

On yours, is it the top torso triangle as one piece instead of two smaller ones?
I have made a couple of tweaks to the decals and will shoot you another word document to convert tomorrow, since yours converter works nicely.
Thanks

Yes mine is the 1 top torso decal.
I can convert all of those EPS's from the Yahoo group if you like. I grabbed them all up to compare with the various BMP, jpg and GIf's floating around.
Send away...

.EPS format...... sounds familiar to me. I used to work in a screenprint sign shop where my boss made vinyl signs using the Gerber Omega program. She'd never train me hands-on to use the plot cutter and do Cut jobs with the program; but she'd try to force me to read the entire Users manual expecting me to memorize all the F key commands that are just redundant when I can just mouse the same commands from the program window's menu. Anyway, I'm sure if I could afford the Gerber Omega program AND the equipment I could help crank out some good stickers from the .eps format. Oh well. Leave that to those who are already established here with good reps, they've been doing terrific work around here for a while. YahooMachindergroup... I'm a member there, although I haven't seen much activity over there in a long time. But, Yes, it is a good resource for files to make stickers. I miss the guy who had all the old molds to make repros, I shoulda bought his molds when I had the chance back then. zozo-Magengar

Hey guys, One project that is giving me headaches is Raydeen. I have all the repro stickers that I bought from voguesworld on eBay. My problem is at the waist. I have the correct number of stickers. Each sticker is individually cut out. I was hoping for one waist sticker so it would be easy to put on. I don't want to mess with 19 different tiny stickers cos that's just too much room for error getting them perfect. I have joined the MachinderShop yahoo Group but I can't view the stickers. Maybe I don't have the right software. Can anyone help a Shogun brother out and steer me in the right direction? Oh yeah, if this post is in the wrong section please let me know. I'm new here so go easy on me. I don't want to jack someones thread. If I have questions like this should I start a new topic? Or post in a thread on the subject I'm talking about? I'm on a another toy/action figure forum and those guys get pretty crazy about the rules. So with that said I don't want to piss anyone off. ;D Feel free to delete this if I have broken the rules. Thanks, jason

Hey mate. I bought those myself for my first Raydeen purchase. It seems a bit daunting but the torso stickers go on quite easily and only require a little patience (they easily peel off if you feel you are not applying them properly). What I suggest is this...work up to the chest. Do the red arm bands first. I suggest removing the lower arm and unscrewing(assuming yours is not the riveted version) the Shield and blade. Then do the vertical 2 pinstripes on each of the the legs. Then you'll be ready for the chest. Work from the front bottom center the 2 large halfs. Center them best you can in their flat surface space. And work out from there.
I tell you the hardest part was the blade cutter. Because you have to put a bit of a curve on them to get them to follow true on the blade curve. Do a little at a time as this part was where I was getting a crease and occasional bubbles, so I had to peel it back a little and redo it. Then work your way out to the sides. The turn around and do the back the same way. They turned out well. Then do the little side studs on the legs. Make sure you sit the first a little over center so that when it wraps it will either tough or overlap. If you are off a bit you will end up with a small white gap.
The thing to remember with this vinyl is its strong but you can stretch it if you pull to hard. Just take your time. And even a "little" stretching can be fixed by pushing it back with friction.
OH and you did wipe your figure down with either warm soap and water? wet wipes? or alcohol wipes first right? to get any old residue, finger oil or dirt off so that the vinyl will make good adhesion.

Hey Will, Thanks for the tips! I'm going to follow your advise and take it slow. I did wipe the figure down and washed him. Protip: I better stay off the booze that night. I bought repro stickers for Mazinga, Dragun and Gaiking also. They were pretty easy to do. Not many stickers and plain and simple. Raydeen I'm sure will take more time. Here is a pic of the first three finished. Thanks again! jason

Mods can you move this to a new topic? This was one of my first posts and now I realize that I should have started a new topic and not posted in a thread that's 2005. Jesus kill me. I saw "Raydeen stickers" and I had a Raydeen sticker question so I thought "hey my posts goes here". D-uh! I think I got it now. No moar errors. Kisses, jason ;D
