this is cool bro.... i just had an idea
you can also use those paper patters to cut out styrene so you can have a plastic model instead of paper, dunno if its easy but thats the first thing that came to my mind when i was browsing the webpage..... what do you think?

DuuuUUUuude, You're absolutely Right! Those paper model patterns can be used for cutting the forms out of styrene! Good Brainstorming there, bud! I'd think it would be easy, ya just gotta see where the parts are actually the robot's, and the "foldover" tabs, so ya don't mix the two up and cut the wrong areas. I haven't tried it yet. I've got figures here I need to work on and customize- I'm spent broke this week from buying more stuff here at RJ ( but the Hauls were well worth it! *^__^*) ... now I gotta wait til Next week's payday so I can buy a Dremel tool and a sander! ;D zozo-Magengar this is cool bro.... i just had an idea you can also use those paper patters to cut out styrene so you can have a plastic model instead of paper, dunno if its easy but thats the first thing that came to my mind when i was browsing the webpage..... what do you think?

its a cheap jumbo gaiking i purchased on ebay,
the gold color and silver color (plasti-kote brand) have different characteristics with the other basic colors. apparently gold and silver dries up quick and can be handled after 20mins, the reg colors like black, took me about a week before i can really hold it without making any fingerprints. but then again, i didnt do any sanding on this nor put a primer. i will start the raydeen soon, and do the sanding first..... ummm but maybe i will do some wings for the other jumbos, just to get the feel of it.

Hmmmm... I think the reg colors took longer to dry, because you didn't sand the surface and primed it. Sanding give a rough surface for the paint to grip into. As always, Thin coats of primer must be applied- allowed to dry- then a light sanding, before the next coat. Use Minimal coats of primer. Too much primer, and the coat will be too thick to dry to the touch. The same rule applies for paint. Room temperature is important, also. If the room is too cold, the paint will not dry properly, and sag. If the room is too hot, the paint will Definitely take a very long time to dry. zozo-Magengar its a cheap jumbo gaiking i purchased on ebay, the gold color and silver color (plasti-kote brand) have different characteristics with the other basic colors. apparently gold and silver dries up quick and can be handled after 20mins, the reg colors like black, took me about a week before i can really hold it without making any fingerprints. but then again, i didnt do any sanding on this nor put a primer. i will start the raydeen soon, and do the sanding first..... ummm but maybe i will do some wings for the other jumbos, just to get the feel of it.

I agree... and the nice thing about paper models, too, is that they could also lead to other new ideas and projects! zozo-Magengar

Download the file, open the zip, display the file, and print it out... the paper-model pattern should appear printed in its actual size of the finished paper model. zozo-Magengar
