As far as most SR's go (basing on the anime), they're basically the same height. One only slightly taller than the other, unless specifically indicated (e.g. Mazinger Z vs Mazinkaiser). Where did the "height hype" for SR's start anyway? From the SRW games? Yeap... it started when Banpresto decided to put ridiculous sizes to the mecha. I personally just base it in how "big" the cockpits are in comparison to "their pilots". A perfect example is Mazinger Z in comparison to the Getta Robot. Check out the Pilder (motorcycle sized) and check out the cockpit of the Getter 1. If you place the SOC GX-01R Mazinger and the Aoshima Getter One, and take into consideration the pilot's size, you will notice that they are pretty much in scale. Anyway, I usually go with the anime sizes (the newer animes), because that is their "true" size... ;D }D

Well, I wouldn't put that much stock in Wikipedia since it's updated by people who are guessing just as much as the rest of it.

Daitarn 3 is a ridiculously large superbot in the anime. Check out the combination sequence:
I'm hoping the toy will stand about as tall as SOC Ideon.

You got it all wrong. It's... PHONE BRAVER 7 ! ;D ... To tell the truth, I'd probably buy it if they actually made a SOC of it. I'm even tempted to get that plastic techno-gadget one.

You only wish you were a combiner. Yeah. The 3 stands for the three modes, not three different parts. Nonetheless, in that video the pilot's flying car combines with Daitarn and becomes its cockpit by flying into Daitarn's garage. Go figure.

Uh oh! It looks like there could be partsforming with Daitarn 3. With the way the different parts change position they actually leave the body and come back. I can see the distress of the board members now.
In the event the sarcasm wasn't apparent, I don't really mind the partsforming as along as it gets made and made well.
;D

It was ok, but I bet a SOC version with detachable parts would be acceptable IF and ONLY IF the extra parts (like the tank treads) are stored somewhere on the toy at all times (vs having to put them aside in a plastic bag when not in tank mode). Just like the anime version.

Oh my, two of the most desirable SR in a row - after the SRW combo...
This will be a wallet massacre!

I'd be thrilled to see a Tryder G-7 SOC. A definite buy for me. I missed out on getting the Clover version as a kid. Always wanted that one. Can't wait to see an updated version of it.

i used to have both of these robots when i was a kid. it would be so nice to have them both in the soc line. 2009 will be another exciting year for soc collection. daitarn 3 tryder g7 which reminded me, if bandai will follow the traditional height specifications of these 2 robots, then we would see daitarn 3 and tryder g7 as 2 of the new soc giants... hmmmm, its getting more exciting. tryder g7 with daitarn at the background..... daitarn and danguard ace, again at the background.... (courtesy of mechanicalrage.it) if this is for real, 2009 will be "sooo heavy" in the wallet.   Wow... nice photo. Comparing Getter-1 cockpit with the likes of the Mazingers, Voltes, etc.. and actually having seen the pilot's seat inside on the AOSHIMA's Getter-1 version, I would say the scales are either way off or Ryoma is a 6 meter giant. Banpresto measurements suck. }D

Oy...Is Phone Braver really that popular? Even the Transformers phone guy had a more interesting design.
