Yeah daimos pricing is weird, one of the greatest spans of price Ive seen in SOC they go from like 120-260 it makes no sense really. I was able to buy mine for $150 from Beta Toys about 2 years ago. I love the aesthetics on this toy. Very anime accurate.

I'm still hesitant to get Daimos, I can't get past the inaccurate transformation and the knee joint is a bit of a turn off. Maybe I'll change my mind if I actually get to hold one. I'm saving up for a soc Daitarn 3 in the meantime.

Sweet! Secured a new unopened Daimos at Mandarake for 15000yen! While probably not the best price, I am just glad that I don't have to pay any mark-up, costing me $193 shipped with EMS. Having stronger US$ exchange rate helps quite a bit. Hopefully Daimos will arrive safe and sound with no issues.

That's actually pretty good considering the inflation and exchange rate since Angolz had him at $100 USD. At around 180 USD, "Including shipping" you're prob paying only $40 more or less since then....

Thanks guys. I did see some at 14000yen. But they were not brand new with re-taped boxes. Since Daimos get scratched so easily due to the transformation, I can't risk it and went for a sealed box paying a little more. I might end up just keeping it in robot mode and not transform it at all.

I might end up just keeping it in robot mode and not transform it at all. If you're worried about scratching, then you'll have to keep it in Space Truck mode instead It's not the transformation, necessarily. It's actually the position of parts that press against each other when the figure is in Robot mode that causes the paint scratches on the inside of the shins and thusly the roof of the "truck". If you're not going to transform it then the scratches wouldn't matter because you can't actually see them when it's a robot. Best thing to do is just enjoy the figure. It's a nice one. A really solid and fun transformable figure.

The SOC Daimos is one of the coolest SOCs ever. I bought two of them to diisplay both modes at once. Unfortunately, the SOC Daimos has the ugliest upper thigh joint ever used on any SOC. it definitely looks just like a badly broken leg! God, it is painful to look at it!!!
